Sehun loved the ocean.

He loved the calming feeling the waves give him.

It was his safe haven, the only place where he doesn't feel any extreme emotions.

He was sailing across a small island with his yacht, which his father gave him for his 18th birthday, when he noticed  a mysterious form near the shore. He slowly maneuver near the front, observing the stranger like a specimen in his science class.

As he got closer, he heard a hum.

'So it was a boy.' Sehun pondered.

He peeked at the boy and saw something moving at the bottom. Sehun gasped and the other boy looked at his yacht, then looked up at him with wide eyes. He stopped humming and Sehun appeared to be horrified, yet amazed.

"What are you?" Sehun asked, with nervousness hinting in his voice. He dared to get near as he examined the whimsical creature.

"Haven't you heard about mermaids? Well, I'm one, so don't look so shocked." The stranger answered with his sing-song voice.

"Woah," Sehun sounded amused. "For real?"

He scoffed. "I'm technically a merman so... yeah I'm real. I assure you, I'm not a figment of your imagination."

"Luhan, by the way." He reached his hand and Sehun came in contact with him.

Badump.

Sehun felt some thumping in his chest. He was anxious, but he managed to introduce himself properly.

"Mine's Sehun, pleased to meet you." He saw Luhan smiled and he won't be lying, he was mesmerized by the boy.

Sehun already spent his three months with Luhan. With the first month, they were getting to know each other. By the second month, Sehun confessed to the older but still, no answer was given to him.

He was always telling Luhan that he loves him, he probably sounded like a broken record but he didn't mind it. It was the third month and Sehun was practically living at the shore, always waiting for Luhan to arrive and never failing to be there first.

"Luhan hyung! When will you give me a reply?" Sehun was whining,he knew he was being childish, but he can't help it. He wanted Luhan so bad.

Luhan's face is always glimmering, especially when the sun rays hits his face. He looked enchanting and he had an out of this world beauty. His body is regularly wet with saltwater, but his skin remained white and soft.

Luhan once approached Sehun's face and the younger was extremely embarrassed that his face looked like a perfectly ripen apple.

He never blushes, just this time, just infront of Luhan.

"You know that I'm not a human,Sehun." Luhan was always saying that, saying that he's different and they can't be together.

"You know that we can't be together, right?" Luhan tried explaining again. Sehun became quiet and Luhan looked at his face.

"My father was killed because of your kind. My mother was devastated, she grieved and cried almost everynight, unfailingly yearning for a presence that is already lost." Sehun bit his lips. "Sehun,"  Luhan said in a whispering tone. "I don't want mother to hate me just because I loved a human. She's my only family, she's the only one I have."

"I love you Sehun, but this isn't our time. Maybe in some other existence, in some other universe..."

Luhan touched Sehun's face as if he was memorizing every corner of it.

Luhan went near his face, he pressed his lips against his forehead, then on his nose...

He kissed Sehun's tears away until he reached his cherry lips.

"Goodbye, Sehun. Please don't forget about me." Luhan whispered.

Sehun watched Luhan swam deep in the ocean, but he didn't noticed the single tear that fell out from Luhan's eyes.
