It was Saturday and Luke had called asking if I could come over to his house. I did have ballet today, but that ended at 3:00 so it was ok. My dance studio was just a block away so I liked to walk there for exercise and it saves a car ride. I walked in the studio, sat my bag in the cubbies, and practiced my pliés as the sounds of symphony come through the speakers, relaxing me.

*time passes and it's now 3:55*

I grab my water bottle and pour some of the cold liquid it in my mouth and spit it out on the ground. My teacher let me stay late and practice my Fouetté Round de jambe Tournant. This is a spin that most ballerinas do and is very hard and complex to accomplish. I have to be very fast while I do this, yet neat and graceful. I have to get this spin perfect by Tuesday which was my recital. Professionals from the world are coming to see the recital and they have given me the chance to let them toter me; that's if I get this one spin correct. I step in fourth position and start the spin. I do a pirouette then a demi-plié. I keep doing this, collecting more and more speed making this spin complex to land. I do this three more times, then land with my right leg behind me, my left leg in front, and my left hand rising in the air. I did it. I just did it correctly! I step out of my position and start jumping in the air.
"I did it!" I yelled. I heard loud clapping behind me and quickly spun around, startled. Luke was leaning in the doorway watching me. He walked up to me and gave me a bear hug.
"That was amazing Gabby!" He said.
"Thanks! I've been practicing that for three weeks now." I said out of breath. Luke chuckled and looked me in the eyes.
"Why are you here late? I thought you were done at 3:00." Luke asked.
"Well," I started. "Professionals are coming to my recital Tuesday and they said they would toter me if I got that one spin right. Now that I've got it right...I could become a professional ballerina!" I said, realizing that I could become a star. I could go on broad way and play as Cinderella or someone!
"Oh my god babe, that's amazing!" Luke said. Luke hugged me again and told me to gather my things.
"Where are we going? To your house?" I asked. Luke nodded his head yes and I grabbed by bag. We went out the doors together and started to walk in the direction his house was. As we walked, I started to tell Luke about what I could do if I was a real ballerina. I could do more recitals, go on brad way, have a book written about my life, and a lot more. When we got to his house, we walked inside and I saw some of his 'cool' friend sitting on his couch. I only recognized Michael since we have first period together, but the two other boys are unfamiliar to me. Michael always gets in trouble for the stupidest things. For example, his phone would always go off in class, he'd be passing notes, cussing out loud, all that stuff. As the door behind Luke and I closed shut, the three boys looked our way. I looked down in embarrassment because I was still in my tutu. Let me tell Ya, standing in front of three cool guys in a tutu isn't really flattering.
"Gabby, this is Michael, Calum, and Ashton. Their in my band." Luke said scratching the back of his neck. The three boys said 'hi' at the same time and I waved at them.
"Wait...your Gabby?" Calum asked. I nodded my head yes and his face lighted up.
"Dude, Luke won't ever shut up about you!" Calum smirked. Luke blushes slightly and punched his shoulder.
"Yeah, he's always like,'Gabby this,' or,'Gabby that.'" Michael chimed in. I laughed as Ashton nodded his in agreement.
"Shut the fuck up or I'll beat up all of you." Luke said with a little blush still left on his cheek. I laughed a little and everyone calmed down.
"So...what's with the tutu?" Michael asked looking at me up and down. Calum and Ashton laughed a little, just now realizing I was in my tutu. I tried to not look down because I wanted to be proud of my tutu since it represents my passion, but I could help the urge.
"Hey don't be a dick, she just came back from her ballet class AND she might actually become a star on brad way if some professionals agree to toter her." Luke said smiling towards me. I looked up from the ground and smiled at Luke for sticking up for me. The three other boys were amazed and stared at me in shock. I stood up tall with pride and said,"Don't underestimate a ballerina." I walked to Luke's bathroom while the boys stared at me. I looked a little at Luke and he was smirking at me. I closed the bathroom door and changed into my extra pair of clothes which was a plain blue v-neck shirt and some pink shorts. It doesn't match, but it's all I have. I walk out and the boys are no where to be seen. I walk in the living room and Michael is still on the couch.
"Michael, where is everyone?" I asked looking around for a sight of Luke.
"Oh their in the garage about to practice." He said smiling at me. We stood in awkward silence when Michael cleared his throat.
"I just uh, wanted to apologize for being a dick back there. You must be a really good ballerina." Michael apologized. I accepted his apologize and we went to the garage. Ashton was siting in front of his drums on his phone while Calum was picking up his bass and Luke was tuning his guitar. I sat down in a chair while Michael picked up his guitar.
"So...got any songs?" I asked getting comfortable in my chair.
"Yeah you wanna hear one?" Luke asked. I nodded my head yes and they played a song called,'Voodoo Doll.' They were pretty good. They played me more of their songs and even a cover of,'American Idiot,' by Green Day. By 7:00 they were done and putting their instruments away. Luke decided to walk me to my orphanage and I said goodbye to the boys. Luke and I were walking in silence until I spoke.
"You're band is really cool. I bet someday you'll be a rocking band with tons of albums and you'll be selling out arenas." I said smiling.
"Thanks. And I bet someday you'll be an amazing ballerina selling brad way tickets and becoming a star." Luke said. After those words, we were silent walking to my orphanage. When we got their Luke kissed me and asked if he could be my boyfriend. I of course said yes and walked inside the orphanage, kissing Luke one last time. It was this day when I knew that I loved Luke Robert Hemmings.

Authors note: This chapter was long, I know. And no, I'm not a ballerina. I may start tho😋
