"and we snuck out,
under the midnight stars.
i couldn't decide who was
more beautiful,
you or the moon.
and it was dark,
but your smile shone through.
and it was cold too,
but when we kissed,
the only thing i felt,
through my body,
was heat..."
the boy dropped his black-ink pen unto the paper. "dammit," he whispered to himself. he was stuck.
shawn had been awake for hours now, finishing his new song. it was nearly midnight and he was 79% tired and 2% creative at the moment. he was aching for inspiration.
ever since him and laur broke up with him he couldn't finish writing any love song that even lingered in his mind. he could only write crappy songs about heart breaks.
he loved laur. from friends to best friends to a couple, it seemed a movie type of love. everything about her made him happy. especially her smile. too bad he would probably never see that smile again.
six months ago, shawn got the devastating news that she was moving. moving to australia. at first he was dizzy and his thoughts were clouded, but he was convinced they would make a long distance relationship work.
fast forward two months, to laur's goodbye party. the hormonal teenagers were all in a circle playing seven minutes in heaven, laur went in the closet with a scott dude, whom shawn had spotted a couple of times at school.
he trusted laur that nothing was going to happen in that closet. well he was wrong. after nearly fifteen minutes of them two being in the closet, shawn had the urge to open that door. and he did. there was laur giving scott a blowjob.
and that was the end of shawn and laur.
although that had been four months ago, it was undeniably hard to let go of her. it was a pain that he loved her so, and apparently she did not. laur cheated on him. of course, partially becauase of a game, but his chest still stung anytime he was reminded of her. as it did right now.
shawn was not depressed, a little sad most days. but that was because he just craved company and love and touch and kisses. he craved gleefulness.
and at the moment his only source of gleefulness was simple: chicken nuggets.
he literally craved them in the middle of the night. and at least they kind of gave him inspiration. i mean, he was definitely not going to write a song about damn chicken nuggets, but that would not prevent him from loving them- and carefully forming an unhealthy obsession for them.
without chicken nuggets his life would go from mild misery to complete brokenness.
he got up from his wooden chair, and wandered around his room for a while. he thought about lyrics, but when new ones popped into his mind, he realized the were from songs that existed already.
dammit, he needed his chicken nuggets.
so he quickly pulled a hoodie on, and put his typical black vans too. he was wearing adidas sweats, which occasionally he used as pajamas. his plan was to bike all the way to the nearest mc donalds, grab his delicious chicken nuggets, take them home, eat them, and then fall into his dreams.
