Ash POV
We have been waiting in the waiting room of the hospital while Clara talked to the doctor and Marie.
I walk up to the room and hear soft arguing, "No, don't tell them, they don't know me and therefore shouldn't know." That sounded like Marie. What doesn't she want us to know?
"Marie, they are going to wonder what is happening, you can't just lie to them."
There was a third voice which I'm assuming was the doctor, "Ms. Williams, your medications are beginning to fail, you need to be readmitted to the hospital."
"No, that is not an option, I need to keep my job, I need the money." I sneered at what Marie said, of course she is just a gold-digging whore. Then she continued speaking, "My mother took my money to pay for her drug addiction, I won't be able to pay for another long stay at the hospital. I'm going home today. It's time that I stop avoiding the inevitable and I don't plan to die trapped behind these white walls."
"Alright Marie, we will get you discharged."
"Thank you doctor." I heard footsteps walking towards the door and quickly scurried my way back to the guys.
"I think we can go back now guys if you want to."
"Yeah okay." Dylan and Cam got up and followed me back to her room. I pushed open the door and walked in to see Clara crying in the corner and Marie staring passively out the window.
Upon seeing us walk in, Clara got up and wiped her tears away. "I'm sorry for yelling at you guys, I was just stressed out, I didn't mean to be so rude."
Dylan looked at her and said, "It's okay," then turning to Marie, "Are you alright?"
Marie finally stopped looking out the window and turned to Dylan, "Yeah, I'm fine. I get the occasional terrible nosebleed, but nothing serious is wrong with me."
I narrowed her eyes at her knowing she was lying after hearing the conversation earlier. Looking at Cam and then to Dylan and I'm almost certain that I'm not the only one who doesn't believe her. My phone started ringing and looking at the caller id I saw that is was Sam.
"Hello Sam."
"Hi Ash, your first date with Marie is scheduled for tomorrow night, I'm going to call her now and tell her."
"No, that's okay, she's right here, I'll tell her, text me the details later."
"Alright, I'll text you later Ash."
Hanging up the phone, I looked at Marie and told her, "Our first date in the public has been set up for tomorrow. I don't know what we are doing yet so don't bother asking." I wasn't exactly happy with her for lying.
The doctor walked back into the room, "Alright Marie, here are your discharge papers. I really hope that you'll change your mind and realize this is where you need to be. Call me if anything else happens." With that he walked back out of the room.
"What does he mean Marie, why does he want you to stay?" Her face paled as Cam asked her these questions.
"As I said before, it's nothing, don't worry about it."
**Later**
After dropping Marie and Clara off at their flat, the guys and I went to the park with Daisy because Marie asked us to walk her dog.
"I don't believe that she's fine, I heard her talking with the doctor. Whatever is wrong with her is bad. Her doctor said that her medicines were failing."
"I think that you're right Ash, something fishy is going on there. By the way, Layla is coming to the park with us."
"Cam, you are always with your girlfriend, when is it just going to be us? I'm the only one technically still single in this group."
"Oh come on Dylan, don't think that we didn't see you watching Clara."
"Yeah, whatever."
When we arrived to the park down the street I say Layla already sitting on a bench. Once Cam saw her, he ran after her and spun her in a circle and kissed her. Yeah, and he thinks that he is the bad boy. They walked back over holding hands.
"And who is this?" Layla bent down to pet Daisy's head and Daisy leaned into her, loving the attention.
"This is Marie's dog, Daisy."
"Oh your girlfriend that management got you?"
"Yeah." We filled her in on the hospital visit as we walked over to the lake and threw a ball into the water for Daisy to fetch.
"Well I want to meet this girl, I'll get to the bottom of it for you." I smirked at Layla and shook my head. She was very protective of all us despite her tough exterior. She and Cam were perfect together. While they both act stronger than they really, they can be vulnerable together. She often dark colors with leather and bright lipstick while cam stuck with almost everything black and had a tattoo that encircled his bicep. Together they became someone only the other saw and truly understand.
**That night**
After we had dropped off Daisy and Cam went home with Layla, Dylan and I went back home. It was around midnight, Dylan had just gone to bed and I stared out my window. Now that the day was over, I couldn't help but think about what the doctor had said. What is wrong with Marie?
