Marie POV
I stared at the five of them blankly and in shock, was this really happening? I mean sure their music was ok but date one of them? Just fakely I reminded myself, it's not real. Still I've only ever had one boyfriend but he dumped me when he found out I had cancer, I mean we had been together since seventh grade. We had been coming up on our four year anniversary in the then when I got sick and he couldn't handle it, he couldn't handle it.
I realized then that they were all waiting for me to say something. Shit. "I'm sorry, what?"
Cam let out a snort and I jumped, which only made him laugh louder. "I said you have to sign this contract, your pay will be 5 grand a week, and you will be fake dating for half a year." Ms. Caffrey pushed some paper towards me as she said this, "You may terminate your contract at any time if something bad happens, but it must be approved by us first."
I shakily took the contract and read it over then I glanced up at all of them, they didn't seem particularly happy but they didn't seem like they would hate me if I signed. Slowly I picked up the pen and signed Marie Williams and dated it.
They snatched up the contract as if I would change my mind. "Good, now all of you go out somewhere to have lunch to get to know each other and please be civil."
With that we were all sent on our way, them practically pushing us out the door.
"I love your dog, can I pet her?" Dylan asked me. I nodded. "What's her name?"
I genuinely smiled at him and said, "Her name is Daisy, she's a Great Dane." Cam bent down to pet her as well.
"Would you like to take her home first in your car and we'll follow you there?" Cam questioned. "After we drop her off we can give you a ride to wherever we are going."
"Sure just follow my car," I said and then got into my car and drove off. I was very nervous about this, I mean seriously what had I gotten myself into?
Asher POV
Marie is rather pretty I thought to myself as we all piled into our car and followed her as she drove to her home.
"So, she seems nice," Dylan trailed off wanting me to say something.
"Yeah, she does, but we all know she'll try to get out of the contract soon enough."
"Stop being so negative Asher, you don't know, maybe she's the one." Cam said, the hopeless romantic in our group with his girlfriend, Layla, of two years.
"Yeah never know," Dylan agreed.
At this point we arrived to her flat and she was getting out of her car. I must say she has quite the nice ass. Hearing one of our doors open I turned to the side seeing the guys pile out, I groaned and followed them.
Marie POV
I entered my building followed by the boys and that's when I realized it would be easier to take the stairs. Groaning inwardly because I tire easily, I opened the door for the stairs and started up. They followed in silence.
When we reached my floor I was slightly winded, but trying desperately to hide it. Unlocking the door we went inside and I unleashed Daisy. "So... where do you guys want to go?"
"How about Johnny Rockets, I heard there is one just down the street," Cam mentioned.
"Sounds great." My doctor would kill me if he knew I was eating fast food for lunch. We carpooled to the restaurant. When we arrived, we all took a seat and sat in awkward silence for a moment. The waiter came and took our orders.
Then Asher asked me a question, "Why were you so winded when climbing up the stairs, are you really that out of shape?"
My eyes got wide but then I snarkily replied, "Do I look out of shape to you? And no it's a genetic thing." Both were true in some sense, I couldn't gain much weight with my cancer causing me to be sick most of the time and I've heard somewhere that cancer is genetic, although that might not be true.
The boys started laughing at me telling Asher off. "I think I'm gonna like you Marie," Dylan told me.
"Aww well thanks, I think I'll like you too." That's when our food came. My stomach growled loudly and Cam said, "Damn girl."
We all dug in and the other two made small talk among themselves, leaving Asher and I to talk, he happened to be sitting next to me. We made awkward conversation, talking about hobbies and favorite things of ours. That's when I began to feel this sick feeling in my stomach and all I could think was, oh shit, not now.
My face went pale and I left the table abruptly, racing for the bathroom. Pushing myself into one of the stalls I shut the door behind me and threw up in the toilet. After emptying my stomach I sat on the floor with me head between my knees waiting for the nausea to pass. Slowly I stood up from the floor and made my way to the sink to wash out my mouth and pop a mint in. I walked back out to the table and they all gave me worried looks, except Asher. Taking a seat, I drank some water and then ignored the rest of my food.
"What are you anorexic as well now," Asher mocked me.
I didn't say anything for a moment and the smirk fell off his face and a frown appeared, then I said, "No you dumbass I'm not anorexic, I just think I'm coming down with something, it might have something to do with the fact that your arrogant ass is here."
He scowled at my response and ignored me for the rest of the meal, while Dylan and Cam snickered at my response but went back to talking while sliding glances at me.
