Marie POV
This hallway is incredibly long, was the only thing I could think as I walked down the corridor. Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me and it was really an average corridor, either way we had reached the door. Daisy trotted along beside me sniffing the air as she went.
"Hello Marie, I am Ms. Caffrey, I will be the one to interview you. First, however, I would like you to fill out this form." The lady seemed nice but I noticed she was quite young.
"Thank you," I accepted the form. It had all the usual stuff on it, name, date of birth, parents, and doctor info, although, I may have left out some of the information in the latter section.
I handed her back the form. "Alright Ms. Marie Williams, my first question is, do you have any experience acting?"
"Yes, I do, when I was in middle school and part of high school I was in some of the school plays, I usually had a lead."
"Next question, what would you be willing to act and how far would you go?
"I would do anything required and expected of me ma'am."
She smiled at me politely "Do you have a boyfriend Miss?"
"No, is that relevant?" This question threw me off a bit, just what did they want me to do?
Asher POV
I watched from the other side of the glass as girl after girl was interviewed to be my fake girlfriend, not that any of them knew this if course. They all thought that they were trying out for an average acting job.
Currently a girl by the name of Sara was in there, honestly she looked boring and Ms. Caffrey seemed bored by her too. Hopefully she wouldn't be picked. Ms. Caffrey thanked the girl for coming and sent her on her way. Then another girl walked in, this one, unlike the others, caught my attention. I mean she had a large dog with her, who does that?
I stared at her intently through the one-way glass. Something about her attracted me to her and I didn't know what. She speaks. I wanted to hear her speak again.
"Asher, all the candidates have been through, did you see one you would like to be put under heavy consideration? Even if you don't we'll choose someone for you." One of the members of management told me this.
"Oh, I'm sure he found someone he liked," Cam said with an eye roll, "he always does." I laughed at that.
"Whatever just pick for me." I didn't want to seem like I cared about any of them.
Management started whispering and the guys came over and started talking to me about the girls.
"That one chick was weird, the one that brought her dog, I think her name was Mary or something like that," Dylan, our drummer, said. "But I liked her, she had character or whatever."
Cam, our guitarist and fellow vocalist, replied, "No, I'm pretty sure her name was Marie, but yeah, the dog was cool." Dylan murmured his agreement.
"Boys listen up, it's between Marie and Sara." Two images came up on the screen side by side.
"Please don't pick Sara, she seemed dull," Cam complained. Dylan was nodding his head in agreement with a look of distaste on his face. "Well Asher, who do you want?"
"Just tell Marie she got the job, the guys will have to get along with the girl too, so she might as well get it." Management nodded.
Someone left to go tell the girl the news.
Marie POV
A man came back out to the waiting room with a clipboard. "Ms. Marie Williams, you have been hired, everyone else thank you for your time, you may go home."
I was actually surprised, this was my first interview and I got the job. I smiled, proud of myself when the same man said, "Please come with me." Following him down the hallway, I stared at his back in shock. I glanced down at Daisy and she glanced back up. We entered the room I had been interviewed in. Ms. Caffrey was in there and she beamed at me.
"Marie, I think it is time I told you what you are doing." I gave a weak smile and nodded for her to go ahead. "You will be playing Asher Louis' girlfriend. Of course you won't really be dating, we'll be paying you to pretend."
My eyes widened and I stuttered out, "Wh-what?" The door opened behind me and in walked Breakeven, the band that I had seen on the news yesterday, with Asher at the lead and Dylan and Cam not far behind.
