Day two's plans were a little different. I didn't want to leave religion early again, so instead I went in before school and set up my drums. Mr. Fisher would be pretty pissed when he saw it taking up space but he'd have to deal with it.

So after another boring hour in religion listening to the value of all that mumbo-jumbo, I ran to the band room. I took my seat on the stool and quickly started "Bro Hymn" by Pennywise. It's a familiar song if you've ever gone to a sports game, I mean, I knew half the song the first time I heard it. It has a nice ascending drum line too, so maybe it would work this time.

By the time all three of them were setting up and tuning the song was at the first chorus. It worked. The bassist picked up on it's bass line. I covered my surprise immediately and continued playing it and disregarded his bass. Then the guitarist joined. He was playing the lead part which surprised me for some reason. He played rhythm for the jazz band when it was needed, which was pretty much, one song per show. I didn't even know he could play lead.

Before we knew it the song was over. They first gave each other high fives and then each of them reached to give me one.

"Your name is Danielle right?" The bassist asked me.

"Yeah, just call me Dani," I replied while adjusting one of the hats.

"Call me Brad," He let out with a chuckle. I gave him a small smile in return.

"And I'm Carson, " the guitarist smirked at me, "We should do that before class more often, it was kinda fun."

"We should," I said, hiding my excitement. This was the beginning. This would be the story we'd tell in interviews when asked about how the band formed. Maybe I was getting ahead of myself but how could I not. Brad nodded and we remained in an awkward silence until Mr. Fisher came in and stuck us into our normal class routine for an hour.
