"This is the idea you had?" Emmett asked holding up the box for 'Elf' "You wanted to watch Elf?" He asked. I smiled at him. "It's only my favorite Christmas movie. It's never too early to get into the Christmas spirit."

He laughed. "Alright." He said. "Have you ever seen it?" I asked. "No, I don't watch many movies." I gasped. "How is this possible? Have you ever even heard of it?" "Nope." He answered. I almost started crying. This should be a crime. I shook my head.

I put the movie in the DVD player we had in the living room. We both sat in opposite sides of the couch as the movie started. "Do you want popcorn and hot chocolate?" I asked feeling dumb for not remembering the most important part of watching a movie sooner.

He nodded quickly. "I'll help you." He said. "No it's alright, I got it." I said smiling. He's a really sweet guy. I dig it. Never again will I say or even think 'I dig it." Whats wrong with me?

"No, I'll help you." He said standing up, not once looking away from my eyes as he stood up. I swallowed and nodded. He followed me into the kitchen.

I got a popcorn bag out of the pantry and put it in the microwave. I pressed the little 'popcorn' button and the microwave began to heat up. Those buttons are so convenient.

"How do you make your hot chocolate?" Emmett asked looking around the kitchen. He seemed confused. I chuckled.

I got out a pot from the cabinet and poured water into it. I put it on the stove and turned it on. "I make it the old fashioned way I guess." He nodded understandingly. I went back to the pantry and got out a packet of hot chocolate powder and poured it into the now warm pot of water. I stirred it with metal spoon.

I turned around and saw Emmett staring at me once again. This is starting to get weird. Why does he keep staring? Is he staring at me because I'm ugly? It's happened before when I was younger.

I smiled awkwardly at him as I walked towards the trash to throw away the packet.

"Why do you always do that?" He asked. "Do what?" The microwave beeped. I walked over towards it and got the popcorn out of it. "Smile. You smile for everything." He said.

I opened the bag and poured the popcorn into a big bowl. I chuckled. "Well it's good to smile. You never know, someone may be having a bad day and just one simple smile can turn their day around. I also don't like being mean, even though I don't really like most people." I said.

He didn't say anything. I turned around to face him confused. He was smiling. A smile I've never seen him express. It looked so genuine like he wasn't trying. Like it came naturally.

"You're not like most girl, Dallas." He said crossing his arms as he leaned against the counter. "Thanks" I said smiling as I turned around. He chuckled.

We finally sat down on the couch again with our popcorn and hot chocolate. I put the bowl between us. I pressed play and instantly began to smile. This movie just makes me so happy.

Ten minutes later my mom came out to the living room. "Hey honey, I'm so sorry to interrupt. Can you please watch the movie in your room or something? I can't sleep." Oh crap. I forgot my moms room was next to the living room. "I'm sorry mom." I said as I paused the movie. "It's okay sweetie." She said smiling going back into her room. I completely forgot she was sleeping. I feel so bad.

I looked over at Emmett. "Do you want to do something else?" I asked. "Of course not, I'm hooked. Lets just watch it in your room." He said. I laughed. I knew he would love this movie. It's practically the best christmas movie ever.

I nodded and got up. I took the movie out of the DVD and turned off the TV. I signaled for him to follow me to my room. I'm nervous about this. I've never had a guy in my room. Ever. I took a deep breath as I opened my door. Thank god I keep my room clean and smelling nice.

He walked in and looked around. He laughed. "Napoleon Dynamite?" He asked pointing at a poster of him and Pedro I had up on my wall. "Yes?" I said. It's one of my favorite movies. He nodded as he smiled.

My room is pretty small. I only have a bed, a desk, a dresser, and a bookshelf which has my TV on it. What I'm trying to get at is that there is basically no room for Emmett to sit but my bed. Unless he would like to sit on my desk chair but its one of those wooden chairs that doesn't spin and isn't comfortable. It's okay though. I'm pretty certain he won't try to make any moves on me. He's free to sit on my bed.

I put the DVD into my DVD player in my room and the movie started where it left off. Emmett laid on my bed and motioned for me to come closer to him. I awkwardly walked towards him.

"Lay next to me." He said patting the spot next to him. I looked at it for a while. This doesn't mean anything. Don't be nervous Dallas. You got this. Oh god what if my mom walks in? I mean we aren't doing anything wrong we're just laying next to each other.

I smiled. I laid next to him leaving a few space between us. Thank goodness I have a size 'full' bed.

We were at the part where Buddy gets run over by the taxi. I was laughing so hard. This part just gets to me every time. I looked down smiling still. I saw Emmett's hand right next to mine. They were almost touching. I watched our hands for a while. I would love to just hold it. His hands look so inviting. They look so soft and smooth. I shook the thoughts out of my head and looked back up to the TV.

A few minutes later I looked back down towards our hands. Emmett's hand was moving closer to mine. My eyes opened wide. He was almost to my hand. I looked up discreetly to see his face. He was still watching the movie. He looked like he was so into it. I looked back down.

His fingers started to slowly stroke the palm of my hand. I didn't want to move my hand. His whole hand eventually wrapped around mine. This means...we were holding hands. I can't believe it. I'm holding hands with a boy. Not just any boy. Emmett Taylor. The most popular guy at my school .The bad boy. The boy who is never seen with a girl. The one who ignores all the girls who throw themselves at him.

I closed my eyes to try to enjoy the moment while it lasts, or maybe I was tired. Either way, I fell asleep.

I woke up. It was now dark. I looked beside me. There was no one. Please don't tell me this was all a dream. This was practically the best day ever.

I got up and walked towards my TV. It was off but there was a note taped to it.

It read ' Went home. I had an amazing morning with you. You fell asleep for a while. I didn't want to wake you. I left as soon as the roads were cleared. We have school tomorrow, I still owe you that ride. I'll pick you up at 8:00 a.m. Here is my number, text me.' Below it was his number. Emmett Taylor's number. I was surprised. Is he sure about this? He had an amazing morning.

This was not a dream. I jumped up in excitement.I even began to dance a little. I looked at the clock. 5 AM. I hate my life.
