School is bullshit.

Yes I know, I need schooling and education to make money so I can live and get a good job and all that shit. Well guess what?

I know a lot of people who dread school. Not only because we have to sit in desks all day doing nothing but listening but because we all feel like what you're teaching us, isn't going to help in real life. So you can talk and talk about the importance of Shakespeare for hours and hours. Okay. Great. I want to be an interior designer. What the fuck do i need to know about Shakespeare? And to not even make it somewhat interesting? Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo? What the fuck do i care?? Yes, I agree Shakespeare did write some amazing things, and sometimes yes I find it interesting but sitting in a class with 25 other people watching a god damn video about this shit isn't going to help me.

I want to learn about how to pay my bills. I want to learn where and how I can volunteer for things, since it's a requirement to graduate. I want someone just someone to ask me what classes i want to take according to what i want to be. I want someone to talk to me about what college/university/other schooling i want to go to.

I've been in school for 11 years and ever since, I've been asked what i want to be when i grow up plenty of times. But, you know how many times I've been asked if i know how to apply to a university to become that? Non! Not once.

So, we graduate when were 17 (sometimes) and when we leave school were so happy to get out, finally were free. But no. Your not free. You're about the enter a world where paying off debt is a problem. Where paying bills is a thing you have to do monthly.

How am i supposed to buy a house? Hmm? "So have you decided if you want to buy this house?"

"Yes, umm, can i do cash and credit?"

This is what i'm talking about!!!! I personally would not even know how to pay for a house. (That wasn't an actual question I had but just used it as an example).

Another thing we need to learn, in socials they teach us about how past cultures have grown their own food and all this but if my mom wasn't a gardener I would have no clue how I could plant a seed and help it thrive and produce food for me and my family. High school education gives you nothing. Honestly, if my parents were different people who didn't cook or garden or help me build my future, i wouldn't know what to do.

My dad was the first person ever to tell me that i needed a resume to get a job. I though that when you wanted a job you went in and got a form, filled it out, and gave it back to them. Then they would decide and if they thought you'd be good then they'd take you in for an interview and that was how you got a job.

Taxes? What are taxes? I had no idea what income taxes were until I got my first job, at 15 I had to get a brief on what they were and how they worked. That was when it really hit me. Wow. In the 11 years I've been in school, I've had hours and hour of practice at simple things like math, english, socials, science and all that but when has anyone thought that we should be taught that income taxes are taxes deducted off a pay check that you can file for and get back.

And let me just say that some of the most important lessons i have been taught, have been through real life. Not through sitting in a desk for 6 hours mindlessly staring at a whiteboard or projector screen.
