The Saiyan Assault! Holding Out for Hope!

Goku narrowed his eyes as a giant of a man and a smaller man landed across from himself and the other Z-Fighters. He sized up the pair of them, quickly recognizing the power dynamic between them as the smaller man gave the giant permission to fight alone.

The huge Saiyan stepped forward, stripping himself of his armor before pointing at Goku. "I want you, first, Kakarot! Show me what a low-class dog thinks he can actually do!" Goku glanced back to the others before he cracked his knuckles, stepping forward as the Saiyan sprinkled something onto the ground.

"Oh, and don't worry about your little posse. I've got something to keep them busy." The ground erupted and 6 small, green alien looking creatures shot from the dirt, chittering amongst each other before the Saiyan pointed at the other Z-Fighters. "Go kill them, Saibamen!" He laughed as they cackled and Goku took a half step to intervene when the smaller man shouted.

"Nappa! Quit playing around. I'm not here to watch you toy with your food. Hurry this up or I'll end it for you!" Nappa glanced back before shrugging and turning back to Goku. "As you say, Vegeta!" He ran towards Goku, catching the young Saiyan off guard with how quickly his large form could truly move. He barely brought his hands up in time to block his punch, sliding back from the impact as his arms vibrated from the impact. "Woah, you're pretty strong!" Nappa smirked as he brought his fist up, sparks crackled around his hand.

"Of course I am! I'm a Saiyan Elite! Only the most powerful of our race receive the honor of being granted our title!" Goku chuckled and crouched down, leaning forward and bringing one arm extended in front and the other extended up behind him. "Well, on this planet, titles don't determine how strong someone is! I'll show you that with enough effort, even a nobody can surpass an Elite!"

Nappa stared at him before roaring with laughter, even Vegeta chuckled quietly at Goku's declaration. "Surpass an Elite?! That's rich, Kakarot! You're a lousy fighter but a fine comedian! Maybe we'll keep you around for those jokes!" Goku's eyes narrowed, and he dashed forward, spinning up into the air and slamming his foot down into Nappa's head. The Saiyan giant hit a knee as Goku yelled, continuing his spin and putting his heel into the side of Nappa's head, forcing him to slide away from the impact. Goku landed, half turning to Nappa as he slowly got to his feet.

He wiped his mouth, grinning down at the blood on the back of his hand before he turned to Goku, veins throbbing in his face as his temper boiled. "Well, well...The runt's got some spunk!" He dashed towards Goku as the younger Saiyan braced, clashing with him in an exchange of rapid blows. Goku cried out as Nappa drove him into a rock formation, laughing and waiting for Goku to pull himself to his feet.

An explosion to the side pulled their attention to the side, Goku's eyes going wide as he saw Yamcha's body within the crater. He spotted Piccolo and Gohan fighting a pair of Saibamen, with Tien and Chiaotzu battling their own pair. Krillin also supported Gohan as he fought, keeping the child as safe as he could. He spotted the missing Saibamen rushing towards Piccolo and he shouted out just as the Namekian spun, slicing his foot through the small green creature and killing it on the spot. He sighed in relief before turning back to Nappa, ducking in time to avoid having his head taken off.

"You better start paying attention to me, Kakarot! If I take your head, I'm taking your brat's alongside it!"

Zara panted as she slid to a stop at the checkout, spotting Kami waiting for her. "Kami! I'm sorry I'm late!" She reached him and he grabbed her hand, both of them appearing on the Lookout. Korin approached her and handed her a bag that she tied to her belt. "Thanks, Korin. We'll need these. How're they doing?" Kami sighed and led her to the edge. "Not well. The Saiyans are much stronger than we anticipated. I don't know if-" He stopped at the smile on her face, finally noticing the calm, controlled expression on her. The wild, untamed child he had met faded away to someone new, someone he almost didn't recognize. "King Kai trained you well, then."
