Later that night I was at home watching tv with my mom, I decided now would be a good time to tell her about the swim team. "Hey mom by the way I made it to the swim team our first competition is this Friday, do you think you and dad will be able to come" I asked
"That's amazing sweet heart, for sure will be there" she smiled.
"Thanks mom" I hugged her. "Well I'm going to rearrange my room now" I ran up stairs. My room was average sized I had a washroom and a walk in closet attached to it. I had a white desk and a lap top there was a tv hanging on my wall and a stereo beside my double sized bed. I knew Olivia wanted me to start over and make a change so I decided to re-paint my walls. That's something Olivia and I have always wanted to accomplish. We never liked the color of my room; it was a beige kind of the color of sand. I wanted something bright though, so I moved all my furniture in the middle of my room and I decided after swim practice tomorrow I was going to stop at the paint shop, of course if my parents agreed to it.

"Mom come on please, I promise I'll be responsible. I'll even buy it with my own money." I said insistent.
"Honey you don't even know how to paint." She responded.
"But I know someone who does" I said with a devilish smirk.
"Who?"
"I'm going to be late for school, just trust me" I howled as I scampered out of the door.
"Ok" she called after me.
When I got to school I was sitting in math class waiting to get our math tests back. When I noticed Dylan was sitting behind me. "Hey Dylan I have a favour to ask" I said smiling.
"You see I wanted to paint my room, and you're a good painter so?"
"You want me to paint your room" He asked.
"Well not the whole thing, I'll help"
"Fine but what do I get out of it"
"Well a hug from your best friend"
"Ok"
"Dylan and Gracie would you like to share with the rest of the class what you're talking about" Said our teacher.
"No thank you" I replied. Our teacher came up to me with a small smile, "You did great on your test, I am very proud of you. Have you ever thought about joining the math club" He asked.
"Maybe" I replied as he handed me my test. "Yes 95 percent" I smiled.
"Hey what did you get Gracie?"
"95 how about you" I asked
"85" he responded. I smiled trying to not act to conceded.
It was finally time for swim practice. I was in the change room getting ready when someone tapped my shoulder I turned around smiling to see Ivy as my smile slowly faded away.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I decided to join the swim team. Do you have a problem with that?" she responded. I looked at her then quickly turned away and went out into the pool area. As mad as I was that poison Ivy was part of the swim team and she was probably going to torture me every day. I wasn't going to let her be the reason for me stopping, I was finally happy and she wasn't going to change that.

"Mom I'm home Dylan and I got some paint, his going to help me paint my room" Before I let my mom respond I killed her with kindness so she couldn't say no. "Ok thanks mom, love you" I ran up the stairs. "So how long do you think it's going to take you to paint my walls" I asked as I plopped down on my bed.
"Hard to say, if you actually help we could finish it today but it won't be dry till tomorrow." He responded.
"Ok I guess I'll help. What I do?" I responded.
"It's not that hard just grab a paint brush and gets painting." I took a paint brush and dipped it into the bright pink bucket of paint as I started to paint the walls.
"You better know what you're doing" I criticized.
"Who do you think painted my room?" An hour went by and we were only finished one of the walls.
"Hmm were never going to get this done, maybe I should call up Rose and ask her if she wants to help."
"Great idea!" Rose came and with in no time we were finished painting my room.
"Thanks guys. Now the only problem is where am I going to sleep?" I wondered.
"You can stay at my house" smiled Rose.
"Really, Are you sure?" I wondered.
"Yeah of course" she smiled.
"Ok"
Later that night I was at Rose's we were curled up into our sleeping bags getting ready to go to bed because we still had school tomorrow.
"Hey, Gracie are you asleep?" whispered rose.
"Yes" I mumbled back a little irritated.
"I need to ask you a really serious question" She said hitting my head with her pillow.
"What is it? I sat up.
"Have you ever been through something, that you don't want to tell anyone but you know you should?"
"Yes, what is it? What happened Rose" I asked concerned.
"After swim practice I was outside waiting for my parents to pick me up. A couple of the senior boys came up to me and offered me a cigarette. I knew It wasn't good so I said no, but then they said if I didn't take it they were going to beat me up. So I did, and now I feel like whenever I breathe I can taste and smell it. I don't want to die Gracie I'm too young" she starting bawling.
"Hey Rose it's going to be ok" I hugged her "You can't die from one cigarette. I think first thing tomorrow morning you should tell your parents about it you shouldn't just let it go. Ok promise you'll tell somebody?"
"Ok I promise."
A couple days passed where I would just walk pass Rose in the hall and not really know how to talk to her. We would still text but we had no face to face conversation. My grades kept getting better and better a couple of the younger students even asked if I could tutor them. Swim practice was going well other then the fact Ivy would threaten me and bully me whenever she had the chance. Dylan and I would basically hang out every day we handed in our art project and got an A we even decided to do another one and hand it into the art competition. When I got back home I decided to write in the diary, I haven't talked to Olivia for a while now and I wanted to see how I was doing on the list.
Dear Olivia,
Hey! So this week went by really fast and a lot of stuff has happened. I got a 95 percent on my math test! So my grades are getting better right? I talked to your parents and sister I feel like they were so relieved once I talked to them. I might even go to talk to them again this week. And I painted my room to a bright pink! It's really nice Dylan and Rose helped. How am I doing on the list? Write back please.
Lots of love Gracie
