"Shane just stop!" I yelled across the living room just as he was about to leave.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I yelled, Jet had come to my side.

"That's what is wrong!" He pointed to Jet and I. "I have loved you since I met you even if we were only little! I hoped every night that you'd be my mate and now your not! So excuse me for not wanting to accept that the girl that I've loved for all my life is now taken." He was just out the door before he said, "by a werewolf and a vampire." He slammed the door.

"Hailey what does he mean by vampire." My mom asked coming into the room.

"It's nothing mom." I said failing at trying to change the subject.

"Like hell its nothing. What does Shane mean by vampire."

"It's Ash." I said softly, knowing she heard me. I pushed away Jet then went out the front door to follow Shane, hearing my mother's orders for me to come back. I knew that I had to find Shane.

I sniffed the air until I picked up Shane's scent. I ran after it, causing me to run deep into the woods. After almost half an hour I was sure Shane would be anywhere. His scent was strong enough for him to be right next to me.

"Shane! Please come out we need to talk." I yelled out hoping to hear a response.

A few minutes of silence went by and low and behold Shane finally hopped down from a tree about five feet away from me.

"Fine. Talk."

"Look Shane I know that your upset about the fact that I have two mates, and neither one of them is you, but we both know there is nothing I can do to let us be together. Once you find your mate you'll forget all your feelings that you had for me." I explained.

"What if I don't Hailey? What if I can never stop thinking about the fact that I've loved you most of my life?" Shane snapped.

"Then we will deal with that once the time comes, but for now I'm gonna need you as my best friend." I told, I grabbed Shane's hand.

"I guess you're right." Shane admitted.

"Aren't I always?" I laughed I wrapped my arm around Shane and we started to walk. Out of no where it began to pour down raining.

"Get on my back I'll get us back there sooner." I jumped on his back and Shane took off in a sprint. I had a bad feeling about this storm. I mean I know Florida's weather is bipolar on whether it rains or not, but this storm literally just came out of the blue.

I think that Shane had the same idea because I felt him picking up pace. I was keeping my guard up just in case of anything happening.

Sure enough something did.

A giant gust of air knocked Shane backwards and on his back, or should I say me. Shane is unconscious and heavy and I seem to not be able to get him off of me.

"C'mon Shane, wake up!" I grunted. How was he even the one who got knocked out when he landed on me!?

He didn't budge. There was some rustling in the bushes. Now i started really freaking out.

"Please Shane, wake up ,wake up, wake up." I rushed out.

"To think I had to do something more extravagant to get you to stop you from moving. Turns out all i needed to do was put a large enough amount of weight on top of you." Ash said. Dammit. I knew he was the one behind this.

"What the hell do you want?" I growled.

"You obviously." He smirked then winked at me. It disgusted me that I actually felt something when he did that. "Can't stop thinking about me can you?" Ash said smugly.
