Chapter 8

<Brook POV>

The bright rays of the sun seeped through the window. I yawned and rubbed my eyes, and stood up. I had a massive headache. I walked over to my room, hoping to see Cole there. There he was, still sleeping.

I sat down next to him on his bed. Running my fingers through his hair, I leaned down and whispered into his ear, "Cole... Wake up..." Cole shot up and stared at me. He smiled at me, then went to wash up and we went to eat breakfast. As we sat down, hand in hand, Jay gave a questioning look to Cole, and Cole nodded. Did they discuss something?

As I brought my plate to the sink, Sensei rushed in. He told us all to gather in his room, which we rushed to.

"A new enemy has arisen. They... They are even more dangerous. They are ravens, and they attack in the sky." All of us gasped. "That's why we need you, Brook you're the ninja of the sky." I nodded in understanding.

"First, there are the blue-eyed ravens, which hypnotize you. Boys, you've dealt with this before, when you were fighting the serpentine. The ravens have similar powers.

"Next, there are the red-eyed ravens, which bite and scratch. Their bites are poisonous and will numb the part that you are bitten on briefly.

"After that, there are the white-eyed ravens. They are extremely fast, and have metal claws that can easily tear through flesh." I shuddered at that.

"Last but not least, the strongest type of raven, the demon ravens, have pure black eyes. They cause tremors in the sky. For example, when a plane crashes, it is most probably because of them."

Hearing about the enemies, my face went pale. How were we supposed to defeat them? As if Sensei could read my mind, he gave out instructions, "First, Brook has to find the Bow of the stars and the arrows of dusk. There will be a guardian there." Cole's palm, which was in mine, became sweaty suddenly. "Are you scared of dragons?" I whispered in his ear. He nodded.

"What are you waiting for? Let's get 'em!" Kai shouted, fist-pumping the air. "Wait! Brook, take these." Sensei pressed a pair of crystal daggers into my hand. "They were given by Wakahirume - goddess of the dawn sun. They are the dawn blades, meant for the ninja of the sky." Sensei patted me on the back. "Now go!" The ninjas converted their weapons into vehicles, while I just dove off the side. Sensei had taught me to control the wind currents so that they could carry me and I could fly.
