Chapter 6

<Brook POV>

"Brook, today you'll be training with me and Zane." Jay walked up to me and shook my hand. We jumped off the bounty and ran into the forest. Training was basically fighting each other and climbing trees. That, at least, is Jay's idea of training. Zane's training was meditation.

I sighed and tried to calm my nerves. "Breathe in, breathe out." I told myself, and breathed in deeply. Closing my eyes, I succeeded in meditating. However, as I meditated, horrifying images of my past came into my eyes.

A scream. Two gunshots. Evil laughter. A blade in my left arm. Extreme pain. My parents' funeral.

I opened my eyes, and screamed. Jay and Zane stared at me. "N-Nothing. Just my past." I stuttered. They stared at me for a moment. "I think we should go back to the ship." Zane suggested. I nodded and attempted to walk back to the bounty, but my legs were so shaky that I collapsed back onto the ground. Jay and Zane pulled me up, and helped me back to the ship. Once I was on the deck, they let go of me and I fell to the floor again. Those memories had really startled me. Cole came rushing out and knelt beside me. "Brook! BROOK! Are you okay?"

That was all I heard before my vision dimmed and everything went black.
