He knocked on the door, "Adam, let me in" he told him.

Little Adam opened the door, "Did mom tell you what I did?" He asked as he plopped back down on his bed, tossing his football in the air, "are you going to make it to my game tomorrow?"

Adam caught the ball, "I will do my best. Yes, mom told me" he admitted, it was funny and he wanted to let his son know, "Adam, that was a good prank you pulled, but you shouldn't have made your sister your victim" he tossed the ball back to his son, "This is our war, we leave the women out of it"he smiled as he tossed Adam over his shoulder.

His hands stopping by the boy's neck, feeling a pea sized lump under his skin, he set Adam down at examined it a bit more, he ran his fingers over it "that hurt?"

"What?" Adam shrugged, bringing his own fingers to his neck, "No, didn't even know it was there" he told his father, "is my time out over?"

Adam nodded, "yea, you need to tell your sister sorry" watching as Adam went in search of his sister, not giving the lump another thought.

The morning was freezing but there was nowhere else he would rather be, Kim was to the left of him and Dani was snuggled in his lap wearing a heavy parka and a blanket draped over her.

"I'm so cold Daddy, when is this silly game over?" She whined as she clutched the cup of hot chocolate in her hands, "besides they're losing anyway"

Kim patted her arm, "That's not very nice Dani, your brother watches you when you figure skate, it's almost over" she rubbed her hands together hoping to feel them again.

"They'll win, trust me. Your brother will take care of business" he smiled taking Kim's hands in his, "I'll warm you up baby" he wiggled his eyebrow at her.

Just as Adam predicted little Adam managed to throw two touchdown passes to win the game in the last few minutes.

Adam came jogging off the field, his helmet in his hand, "Did you see that throw? I can't believe PJ caught it and got the touchdown. It was amazing dad" he smiled, squirting Gatorade down his throat, "I'm kinda hungry"

Kim laughed, "Of course you are, go get in the locker room with your team and get changed we are meeting Aunt Trudy and Uncle Mouch for lunch"

Little Adam snickered, "Oh, joy. Gertrude are you excited?" He poked Dani in the ribs making fun of her middle name.

They had named her after Trudy, she had done so much for them it was the least they could do. Kim could still picture Trudy's face the morning Dani was born and she came up to visit asking what her name was. Adam announced it, Danielle Trudy Ruzek, also known as 'Dani'

"It's not Gertrude, it's just Trudy!" Dani corrected him, pushing him.

"Alright, Dani, that's enough" Adam told her, "Go on Son, hurry up and change"

Trudy and Mouch already seated in a booth, "Here they come" Mouch told her waving the family over.

Dani took off in a run, "Hi Aunt Trudy" climbing in the between Trudy and Mouch, another chair being placed at the head of the table for little Adam.

"So?" Mouch asked excitedly, "How'd it go?"

Adam grinned, "We won! Came back from being down a touchdown and won it in the fourth quarter!" He explained giving him a high five.

"That's fantastic pal, I'm coming to the next game. I promise"

Adam's phone started sliding across the table, "Sorry" he said as he answered it, leaving the group and heading outside.
