Levy sat in at a table in the guild hall of Fairy Tail, alone, examining the shiny and flat sword that was handed down to her by a dragon of anonymous identity. Ever since she returned from Destiny Mage, Levy had been different, everyone in the guild could see. She was not the small, fragile, weak Levy they all knew and loved, but an aggressive, harsh, tough Levy that they had come to recognize, though all missed the old Levy.
She barely talked to anybody, and still bore a slight grudge against her comrades, who had acted without reason and caused unnecessary trouble for her and Yoru, her partner. Unfortunately, she was not as close to Lucy, Gajeel, and even Jet and Droy as before. She just couldn't help herself from holding a grudge against them; they were her friends, they were supposed to believe her, but they turned their backs on her. She couldn't realy blame them though; it had looked pretty believable.
She sighed an put it back in its sheath, staring at the table as if it were the most interesting thing, though really it was not. Someone sat in front of her and she looked up to see Lucy, who gave her a sad smile. She slid a pile of papers towards her, all neatly place in a duotang. "I did promise, didn't I?" She said before standing up and walking away.
Levy's gaze followed her former best-friend as she talked cheerily with the other guild members. Tears came to her eyes as she pulled it towards her. She missed teh days when she was happy, when she was still in Fairy Tail and the Grand Magic Games were only a test of strength, not a life crusher. She wanted so desperatly to go back there, to go on missions, help people out with their missions.....
She read the title page of the book, The Mist Does Not Shine.
Levy got confused, seeing as it was a whole different title from the one Lucy had told her before she left.
As Levy started reading the first page, she saw how much she had missed reading; she had not even touched a book since she left Fairy Tail, saying that it made her look weak and pathetic.
She realized now how wrong she was, and that reading would always be a part of her, as would her friends.
Her resolve to not speak to her friends started to weaken, but she quickly covered it up by plastering an emotionless face on. She continued with her reading, and she couldn't take her eyes off of it. She walked home, reading, she cooked, reading, she took a shower, reading, she jumped into her bed, reading, and stayed like that until she turned the last page.
Tears were in her eyes as she stared at the two-hundred pages in her hand. She knew who this book was about; her.
It was about a girl who's friends turned their backs on her when she needed them most, and it tells everything, every change that the girl took, all of the perspective of her old best-friend, who had also turned her back on her. There was a bit of romance and drama in it to make it interesting, but it was overall like Lucy's diary of feelings about how she felt and wished she could change.
Levy looked at the heap of metal in the corner of her room that she still wore everyday, and frowned.
I'm not going to remain this way forever. I have to let go of this grudge that only does me and the people around me harm.
