He didn't know where he was, or how he got there. It didn't matter to him. As long as Levy was safe, and the Dragon Sword was safe, he didn't matter. He'd used up most of his energy fighting Kim, and even then he wasn't able to beat her. She'd gotten stronger, he knew he wouldn't be enough to take her down alone. So he did the most cowardly thing he'd ever done; he ran.
It may have saved his life, and he had more chances of seeing her again, at least once, but what would she think of him if she knew? If she knew that he'd done everything he could but still wasn't strong enough?
He couldn't smell, couldn't see. He could barely hear. His limbs felt as though they were weighed down by thousands of iron bricks, but he couldn't eat them. He could do nothing to lessen the pain in his ribs, the ache in his skull. Everywhere he looked – blackness. Everywhere he walked – nothing. Everywhere he looked – he'd never find her. Something just told him so. He heard the splash of water, and then – nothing.

Levy awoke late in the night, the sky almost black. She felt the urge to go somewhere, she just didn't know where. She forgot about her legs as she tried to get up, only to fail and, suddenly panicking, she started thrashing around harshly. Her throat constricted, and she felt as if she couldn't breathe, a harsh pressure swallowing her whole.
Can't..... breathe!
She thought, and then her body stopped moving entirely.
-------
Levy awoke, a thin line of sweat trailing from her forehead. She could breathe, and the pressure, reminding her so much of water, was gone.
Did something happen to Gajeel? She thought, finding it odd that she would know before anyone else. Suddenly she heard a loud splash, but there weren't any ponds or rivers nearby. Her face paled. She had a very bad feeling.
So she screamed, and in an instant, guild members filed in, ready to fight. "Levy?" Erza called, stepping forward. Her voice was full of authority, as always. "I think..... I think I know where Gajeel is." She whispered, and her eyes had gone back to normal and were no longer distant. She didn't have enough time to cover it, it was not her priority.
Everyone looked shocked, but nodded steadily.
"Natsu, do you think you can melt some of the gold off to make her easier to carry?" She asked, motioning to the thin line now around some parts of her legs, still hard enough not to be able to break on its own.
"Where's Wendy?" She called and the bluenette stepped up, looking determined. "I'll do my best!" She exclaimed and settled herself on the other side of the older blue haired girl, and facing Natsu. Soon, the gold was completely off. "Finally! It's been three weeks since we've been working on what Kim did to you!" Natsu shouted and jumped up, stretching.
"Natsu, you haven't even been working for fifteen minutes since Levy asked for our help. You shouldn't be stretching." Lucy sweatdropped, shaking her head. "Alright! Off we go!" Erza shouted, and the small team of the best mages in Fairy Tail headed off to where Levy felt she needed to be.
