To say she was treated horribly was an understatement. Gajeel tried to help her as best he could, but Kim always dragged him away most of the time. This infuriated Levy to such an extent that she nearly struck the guard watching her. She didn't want her feelings to resurface – she wanted them to stay burried deep in the back of her heart and mind. She had promised herself that she would never love Gajeel after what he did. How come he had somehow managed to sneak his way into her heart so easily when her resolve was so strong?
She hated but loved the feeling, knowing that she would probably never break free again. Deep within, she knew he was the only one for her, but she also knew that it would put him in danger if they ever ended up together. People would come after him in order to get to her – but then again, he was the Iron Dragon Slayer, and, for goodness' sake, Black Steel Gajeel. She wanted to weep and bust down the wall at the same time, thinking about all the trouble she could have saved if she had never accepted the sword in the first place. She wouldn't be in this situation, but maybe Kim would still be Gajeel's fiancee, maybe even his wife. Everything was tied, one good thing for a bad; She didn't know if she prefered still being at Destiny Mage, without the sword this time, but still with a newfound ability she would have learned eventually, or being by Gajeel's side.
She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, and just then, her legs started to ache and cave in on themselves. The pain was excrutiating. She hadn't felt the slighest thing in her legs the past few days. She threw the blankets off her legs and looked down, seeing the solidified gold around her legs glowing and seeming to willingly crunch her legs.
That must have been Kim's doing; had Gajeel done something that Kim didn't like, and the only way to punish him would be to punish her? As if on cue, Gajeel burst through the door, a frantic look in his eyes. Her eyes welled with pain, something the dragon slayer could barely stand. He couldn't, in fact, but he had to stay calm or it would only be worse.
Kim strode in after him, golden hair bouncing in its ponytail, a wicked look in her eyes. "Aw, is little Levy hurt? I'm sorry, this should help." She said in a fake sweet voice. The pain intesnfied, and she cried out, her legs actually crunching beneath the weight. "Kim!" Gajeel shouted, his voice desperate. "Stop!" His voice sounded so frantic and worried, it made her smile weakly at him as dots started to spot her vision. She would not scream. She would not cry. She would stay strong. She would show him that she was capable of taking care of herself. All that stopped as she slowly started to lose consciousness.
"STOP IT!"
Loud explosions followed the roar, and then Levy didn't hear or see anything. It was just blank emptiness.
Just then, a tear trailed down her cheek.
I'm sorry, Gajeel......
