Mariner Bay, City Square
'Carter' walked among the citizens of Mariner Bay. He came to a stop by a railing, overlooking the Square. Stretching out his hand, a ball of fire formed above it. Without hesitation, he sent it hurtling down towards the Square, sending everyone within range running in all directions. With a laugh of amusement, 'Carter' leaped down and landed among the chaos. Sharp teeth appeared long enough to let out a roar to strengthen the fear within the citizens. He laughed even more as they screamed and ran. "Hold it!" Someone yelled from behind him.
Turning, he saw Ryan and the other Rangers rushing towards him. They came to a stop a few yards away from 'Carter'. "Well, well, well." 'Carter' chuckled, "Look who decided to show up."
"We're onto your game." Chad called.
"And what game would that be?" 'Carter' wondered.
"We know you're an imposter!" Joel exclaimed.
'Carter' gasped dramatically and clutched his chest. "How will I ever get away with it?!" He cried in mock sadness.
"Enough games!" Ryan yelled, "What've you done with Carter?"
A moment passed before 'Carter' dropped his act. "You shouldn't worry too much about him." He said, an eerie calm to his voice.
The calmness caused the Rangers' suspicion to rise. "Why?" Dana asked.
"Because you won't be around long enough to find him!" Came the response.
As he yelled that, his voice became that of his true voice. It was no longer Carter's voice they heard but that of the Devil's own. This and the threat caused them to snap into action. "Lightspeed Rescue!" The rangers called in union.
With a burst of light, Chad, Joel, Kelsey and Dana morphed into their Ranger forms. "Titanium Power!" Ryan called.
Another burst of light appeared and soon, the Titanium Ranger joined them. However their appearance didn't seem to bother 'Carter'. Instead he merely laughed. The rangers charged the imposter without hesitating. 'Carter' just yawned and vanished into thin air. By the time the others reached the spot where he had been, he had completely disappeared. "Where'd he go?" Kelsey asked.
As if to answer the question, 'Carter' appeared out of nowhere and landed a powerful kick on Joel's back, sending him smashing into a nearby car in a shower of sparks. A swift punch sent Kelsey flying a few feet away. Dana dove to the side to avoid a kick, and drew her blaster. With a smirk 'Carter' raised his hand and seconds later the blaster was in his hands. He fired a shot, striking Dana in the shoulder.
Chad leaped through the air, launching a kick at 'Carter's head. However 'Carter' was too fast. He ducked under his leg and threw Chad into Joel, who had just managed to get to his feet. Ryan stepped in front of the two defensively and prepared himself. "Where's Carter?" He demanded, "Tell me!"
Without a response, 'Carter' charged. With a growl, Ryan accepted the challenge. He launched a kick at the imposter only to miss when 'Carter' sidestepped him. Ryan recovered and grabbed 'Carter' before burying his knee into his belly. With efficiency, he landed 3 quick punched to 'Carter's chest. However, the blows didn't seem to faze him. Laughing, 'Carter' kicked Ryan in the stomach, and threw him over a railing into the square below. As the Rangers regrouped, 'Carter' raised his hand. A ball of fire slammed into the ground behind them, sending them flying forward into the debris. The force of the attack caused them to power down, while 'Carter' laughed at them. "Your powers are pathetic." He cackled, "You're almost as weak as he was."
Ryan struggled to his feet, wincing with pain, and glared at 'Carter'. "Who are you?" He demanded.
'Carter' chuckled before answering. "You'll find out soon enough." He said.
With that, he disappeared. The Rangers got to their feet and warily returned to the Aquabase.
