Carter couldn't understand. Spinning around, he faced the mirror again. His reflection turned as well, with the red tinge to his eyes once again present. A nasty smile of triumph appeared and the Devil waved casually. "Enjoy your stay." He laughed.

Then the Devil turned away and walked out into the hallway and disappeared into the darkness. Carter pounded on the glass but the Devil didn't return. "Noooo!" He yelled.

The Devil walked out of the cathedral and took in a deep breath. 'It's good to be back.' He thought to himself as he walked away.

The Rangers woke up and went on with their morning as they usually would. They went into the cafeteria, and sat down to have breakfast. "So how do you think it went with Carter?" Dana asked.

"I don't know. I haven't seen him this morning." Joel said, "But then again, he may not be back yet."

"It's possible." Chad agreed, "Mariner Bay Cathedral is in the downtown area."

"Yeah." Joel said

At that moment they heard a door slid open from down the hall. "In fact, I bet that's him right now." He added.

Rising from their chairs they stepped into the hallway. Sure enough, Carter was there. "How'd it go?" Chad asked.

"Fine." Came the response.

"So, did He show up?" Joel pressed

"Yes in fact He did." He replied

"I knew it!" Joel exclaimed, "How'd the game go?"

"It went fine but I almost went over the time limit." 'Carter' said.

This caught Joel's attention. "Almost, huh? Well then I'm sure you won't mind if I ask you a question to make sure you're still you." He inquired.

Carter thought it over. How hard could it be? "Shoot." Carter accepted.

"Alright." Joel shrugged, "What are our names, Ranger color, and what we did before we became Rangers?"

"Lets see. You're Joel, the Green Ranger, and you were a stunt flyer known as 'The Sky Cowboy'. He's Chad, the Blue Ranger and he was a performer at a sea park." He listed, "She's Kelsey, the Yellow Ranger and she was an athletic adrenaline junkie type of person. And she's Dana, the Pink Ranger and a medic."

The other Rangers sighed in relief. "Wait. You forgot one." Dana said.

"Right. Ryan, the Titanium Ranger and he used to be evil." Carter added.

"Man, you had us worried for a minute." Joel laughed patting him on the shoulder.

"I told you not to worry." Carter replied.

"Hey guys, let's go see what's on TV." Joel suggested, "Dibs on the remote."

"In your dreams." Kelsey replied

With that, she took off down the hallway towards the Rangers' quarters, with Joel sprinting after her. Dana and Chad laughed before they rushed off after them. Dana stopped before she rounded the corner and looked back at Carter. "Are you coming?" She asked.

"I'll be there in a minute." He assured her.

With a nod, Dana raced after the others. Once they disappeared, 'Carter's eyes flashed yellow as he closed his eyes. In his mind, he could see the real Carter angrily pacing back and forth. Smiling with satisfaction he decided to (what was that saying the mortals used?) "stir the pot"
Carter paced back and forth furiously. Why had he accepted that challenge? Why had the others been so obsessed? These questions and more filled his brain when the Devil's menacing voice echoed through the room. "Better be mindful of your feelings Carter." The Devil warned, a hint of glee to his voice, "You'd be amazed at what could happen."

Carter raised his eyes to the ceiling. "Get out of here!" He yelled.

"As you wish. But don't say you weren't warned." The Devil chuckled.

And once again, Carter was alone. 'Carter' joined the other Rangers in the Rangers' quarters to find them sprawled out on the floor with the TV on. It seemed to be a news report but it was difficult to hear because Kelsey and Joel were arguing. "We don't need to see the football game." Kelsey was saying, "We already know that they're going to lose!"

"Well how can we know if we aren't watching?" Joel countered.

"How about-" Kelsey began.

"How about instead of arguing over something as dumb as whats on the TV, you just give the remote to someone else?" 'Carter' asked, an edge to his voice.

"What's your problem?" Kelsey asked.

"Nothing. I'm just tired and I don't want to listen to you while I try to nap!" He replied, "Now quiet down!"

His yelling caused Ryan to react. He walked out of his room to find them in the main den of their quarters. "What's going on?" He demand.

"Nothing." Joel said, "Everything's cool."

"Are you sure?" He asked looking from Joel to 'Carter'.

"Yeah. We're fine." 'Carter' agreed. "You can go back now."

"I'll do that when I'm ready." Ryan said.

Carter locked eyes with him for a moment. And it was in that moment when Ryan saw it: The red tinge to 'Carter's eyes. "Are you ok?" He asked.

"Yes. I'm just exhausted." 'Carter' replied, "I'm gonna go sleep."

With that he hurried out of the room. "What was that all about?" Chad wondered.

"I don't know." Ryan answered.

His gaze lingered on the doorway where 'Carter' had been before Ryan took a seat and watched TV. 'Carter' walked quickly down the hall and into one of the bathrooms. After locking the door, he closed his eyes and extended his mind towards the mirror and to the victim within.
