Chapter twenty-two
Connor's POV
"Do you want anything from the shop?" I ask as I pull my shoes on, not bothering to undo the laces, I was far too lazy for that.
"I'm okay thanks, you know you're going to ruin your shoes if you do that." He remarked. I rolled my eyes but I couldn't hold back the smile on my face. I walk over to the sofa and lean down, kissing Troye goodbye before putting my coat on.
"I shouldn't be too long, I have my phone with me if you change your mind." I smile before opening the door. Shouting a quick 'I love you' over my shoulder as I walked out into the bitter cold day. The sky was a grey colour, no sun could be seen through the dark rain clouds. The rain fell down, hitting my head and making me put my hood up so it didn't ruin my hair. Car horns could be heard from all around and a police siren droned on in the background. What a miserable day, I thought to myself. I walked hurriedly down the streets, not caring to look where I was going, I just kept my head down and walked through the bustling crowds. I crossed my fingers and hoped I wouldn't accidently knock someone over. As I walked into the shop I breathed a sigh of relief as I took my hood down. The shop was cold, but it was warmer than the outside so I wasn't complaining. It was surprisingly empty in the shop, the complete opposite of the bustling streets. I picked up a basket and began walking aimlessly through the aisles. It didn't take long for me to accidently walk into someone. I stepped back, apologising repeatedly. As I stepped away I saw who the person was, Zoe.
"Zoe?" I asked, pulling her into a hug. She was giggling as I pulled away.
"Hey Con! I feel like I haven't seen you in ages! Last time I saw you was, Joe's party right?" She said, I thought back to that night. The thought causing me to smile widely. That was the night I became the happiest man on earth.
"Yeah, Joe's party." I nodded, still unable to wipe the smile off my face.
"How's Troye anyway? I know you two were renting an apartment until you go back to LA." She asked smiling. I felt my cheeks burn up at even the thought of him. It's weird how he could still do that to me.
"Oh um, yeah he's okay, still working way too much." I chuckled, scratching the back of my head nervously. She looked at me a little confused but when she saw I noticed she smiled.
"What have you two been up to?" She smiled. I sighed and laughed to myself, what haven't we been up to was the question.
"How much time have you got?" I chuckled.
