"Okay, sure! Can I escort you to your new hiding place?" Niall smiled from ear to ear.
Julia nodded. Nodded like an idiot.
What am I doing this for? Going with him to meet the other boys.. wow. Like I have forgotten everything that happened! Still, here I am with one of (favorite) band members, keeping lies to myself. Maybe I should just see what happens and never ever fall for them again. Julia thought as Niall lead her to where the boys at.
"So you play instruments or sing?"
Just to make sure he's convinced that I don't know One Direction.
"Actually, both."
"Oh."
Meanwhile, Louis was drowning Liam, Harry was as usual texting Hannah, and Zayn was applying sunscreen when Julia and Niall arrived.
"Hey guys I'm back!" Niall waved.
Holy mother of cupcakes. She said in her mind.
"Hi Niall!" Louis waved at the Irish boy.
"Hey Niall we got chips for you! They have free delivery of McDonalds here. Can this place be even cooler?" Zayn said throwing the chips to Niall.
"What's up with Liam?" asked Niall.
"He stole Louis' carrot and threw them to the sea. Louis can't find it and he's mad." Zayn replied.
"DON'T EVER TOUCH MY CARROTS!" Louis shouted.
"Lesson learned: Don't ever mess with Louis' carrots." Harry pointed at Liam.
"LOUIS—Stop! I found it!" Liam raised his hands. He gave it to Louis. Louis grabbed the carrot and swam away from Liam.
"Who is she?" Louis whispered.
"Oh, this is Julia. I bumped her when I was walking down the beach." Niall introduced.
She just smiled.
"Nice catch." Louis winked at Niall.
"I'm Louis by the way." He held out his hands to shake.
Louis gently put down his hands with a weird look on his face. "So much for introductions," He approached Zayn who was eating the burger they ordered in McDonalds.
She observe the boys as they talk. Zayn was still the vain one she saw in the videos, Louis was still the funny one in the group, Harry was still the flirt, Liam was the responsible guy, and Niall was the food guy. Suddenly, she noticed the carrot Louis was holding.
"Nice carrot." Julia blurted out.
"What did you say?" Louis turned to Julia smiling like an idiot.
Oh no. BIG trouble. You know, sometimes I need to keep some things to myself.
"I.. I said nice carrot."
"REALLY?!" Louis squealed. Julia awkwardly nodded.
"YOU CAN TOTALLY HANGOUT WITH US!" Louis jumped in gladness.
"Just because of the carrot?" Liam asked puzzled.
"Got a problem with that?" Louis shot daggers at him.
"Nope."
"Good."
"Just to formally introduce you to my lads here, the one vain there is Zayn, the guy on the phone is Harry and that bastard swimming like an idiot who stole my carrots is Liam. And you probably now Niall here." Louis pointed as he introduce the boys to Julia. "We are all in a famous boy band called One Direction." Julia nodded.
Of course you are. It's just that... Naiisip ko lang kung directioner pa ako hanggang ngayon eh di nagtatalon na ako sa tuwa at nagsisigaw na. Pero hindi na eh.
She was snapped back to reality when Niall offered his chips to her.
"Want some?" The boys stared blankly at Niall.
"You sure you're going to SHARE the chips with HER?" Louis asked suspiciously.
"Yeah. Is something wrong?"
"You NEVER EVER shared your chips with us." Louis gasped. He walked out and approached Zayn. Then, he whispered something to Zayn's ear.
"What?!" Zayn told Louis.
"Shut up. Tell Harry what I told you."
"What's with them?" Julia asked Niall.
"I don't know. Want some?" He offered.
"No, thanks." Julia reclined Niall's offer.
The Irish boy felt rejected. Julia saw the embarrassment in Niall's eyes.
Ugh. Ano gagawin ko? Ala. Bahala na nga.
"I mean um-yes." Julia grabbed a few. Niall smiled.
Louis, Zayn, Liam and Harry still can't believe their eyes. Niall was REALLY SHARING his chips with a GIRL. There was something about her, they thought. But they resumed whatever they are doing for Niall stared at them dead straight.
You've seen them in person, Julia. That's almost a skyscraper of luckiness. You saw them, that's done. Now, leave.
As she finished off the chips she got from Niall, she said, "It's been nice here Niall but I think my archenemy won't be finding me anymore.. He gets bored quickly. That's why—I-I- should be going then."
But Niall's not letting her go that easy. Don't call him forceful, more like determined and he has his charming ways to hold a girl. Julia might not be his type, but someone this confusing and weird has to be a friend somehow. He knows he can express himself freely without worrying that his popularity might get in the way because Julia don't know he is from a popular boyband. To her, he might just be some normal guy.
And that's something valuable to someone like Niall.
