"Not all change is good change"

This chapter is dedicated to writingiswhatilike because she spammed my notifications the other day and left such a sweet comment. Thank you for reading, ily. (:

I plug my earphones in and the screen of my phone lights up. I swipe my screen and the 8tracks app launches. I sigh deeply and tap my most recent playlist and immediately music starts playing. I relax into the plush seat in the corner of the library. I'm currently in my study hall, and I decided to go to the library for some quiet while I had the time. In fact, the library was one of my favorite places to go to in order to escape from real life. My life at the moment was getting more and more stressful by the day, and I needed an outlet for all of my raging emotions. That was the reason I currently had my sketchbook in my hand, ready to let my mind wonder and hopefully create a masterpiece.

I slide my pencils out from my backpack and place a hand on my chin lost in thought. This is how it always happened. I would sit in silence-well not exactly- and wait until inspiration sparked within me.

Cody Simpson's 'Pretty Brown Eyes' began playing and I lightly groaned. A familiar pair of brown eyes flashed in my mind. My eyebrows crinkled and I grasped my pencil tight in my hand. Almost mechanically I brought the pencil to the page and began sketching the outline of a face.

I unlocked my phone and went to my photos. I paused for a few seconds before tapping on the album named 'Camz'. I scrolled through the many pictures I had taken of Camila and stopped when I came across and off guard picture I must have snapped on one of our dates. She's looking off to the side with her signature smile that I fell in love with. I smile softly at the sight of her face. I leave the picture open on my phone and begin to sketch from reference glancing at my phone every once in awhile. Slowly, I become deeply immersed in sketching Camila's facial features making sure they mirror the beautiful girl I used to call mine.

A while later I feel shuffling near me, but I don't look up from my sketch. I already know who's sitting next to me. A nutella covered piece of bread on a plastic plate is pushed towards me and I smile.

"Thanks D-Mac," I look up.

"No problem," she pauses leaning over to see what I'm drawing. A small chuckle escapes her lips, "drawing Camila again?"

I nod softly and lift the piece of bread towards my lips. Dinah gestures towards my folder and I nod allowing her to go through it. My eyes close as the heavenly taste of Nutella graces my taste buds. Nutella has always been one of my favorite snacks, and it was very well known amongst my friends. In fact, it was so well known that I received an assortment of Nutella covered treats for my birthday. It was a good day for me, although the next day I had a massive stomach ache.

"You've added a lot of pictures since the last time," Dinah states closing the folder.

The folder was Dinah's idea. She came up with the idea after noticing how much I liked to draw Camila. Now, the folder was filled with dozens of pictures of the brown-eyed girl and anything that reminded me of her. For example, there was a drawing of a smiling banana, just because it reminded me of Camila's obsession with the yellow fruit.

"Yeah. I guess I've had a lot of inspiration lately." I shrug.

"Does this have anything to do with your recent conversation with Mila?"

"I'd rather not talk about that," I sigh yanking my earphones out of my ears. She sighs before giving me a hard look.

"Lauren, after what you told me about your conversation it seems you that you two have the possibility of getting back together. Maybe you should tell her the truth," Dinah suggests.
