"Wha-what happened to me?" James stammered, "Where am I?" he asked, as he became aware of his surroundings.
"Oh, honey," Mrs. Wyatt cooed as she cradled his head, "you had a seizure and they found a brain tumor.
"A tumor?" James asked, his face turning pale, "Am I... am I going to die?"
"No, of course not honey. You'll have a surgery, and you'll be all better then," his mom assured him.
"Where's Aubrey," James said, coming to terms with the situation, "I need to see her."
"Right here," I stood up and walked over to the side of his hospital bed. I grabbed his hand and he squeezed it back.
"I'm so sorry Aubs, you must have been so worried," he said. I couldn't believe that he was thinking about me after hearing that he has a brain tumor.
"Don't worry about me, I'm fine," I replied, "what matters is that you get better."

The next morning, I realized I had spent the night at the hospital. A nurse came and and informed me and James' family that he would be taken out of the ICU and be moved to a standard room. Once we were all settled into the new room, the doctor from the night before came in and said James was ready for his surgery. I held James' hand as they wheeled him towards the surgery room.
"I love you," I whispered in his ear.
"I love you more," he whispered back. The doctor gave him some anesthesia, and wheeled him into the room. James disappeared from sight as the heavy metal door clicked shut behind him.
