"No!" shrieked Mrs. Wyatt, "This can't be happening to my baby!" she ducked into the bathroom and we could hear her making gagging sounds.
"I'm really sorry folks," the doctor said, "we'll do everything we can for James."
"Thank you doctor," Mr. Wyatt said as he went to check on his wife, "we understand." I still hadn't said anything, I was in too much shock to process my thoughts. I felt Mia's trembling hand clutching mine, and I bent down to pick her up.

"It might be best if you went home to try and get some rest, it's unlikely that James' condition will improve overnight," the doctor added as he headed towards the door. Mrs. Wyatt came storming out of the bathroom
"Now wait just a minute, doc," she snarled as she waved her finger at the doctor, "we were told to go home last night, and look what happened. My baby's in a coma!" she shrieked, "I'm not leaving." Mrs. Wyatt sat down next to James' bed and glared at the doctor. The doctor was taken aback by her outburst but nodded in approval and left. Mrs. Wyatt turned to me, "Maybe it would be best if you went home though," she said in a kind voice, "you have school tomorrow, Aubrey, and that important too." I didn't want to argue with her, because Mrs. Wyatt was very fragile at the moment.
"Alright," I said, trying not to let my disappointment show, "can you call me if anything happens?"
"Of course," Mr. Wyatt said. With that, I left the hospital and walked to my car.

When I got home, I told my mom I wasn't feeling well and headed straight to my room. Mrs. Wyatt had already called her about James, so she didn't ask any questions this time. I dreaded the thought of going to school tomorrow, I tried to keep my mind off of it. Everyone would ask me questions, and I still hadn't accepted my homecoming crown. I just knew I wouldn't make it through the day. I was exhausted though, and I fell asleep right away. As I slept, I tried to forget everything that had happened inthe past few days.
