I got a phone call from my dad the
next morning, he mentioned something about him visiting me and checking up on me. i definitely wasnt excited about my dad walking in and criticizing my new lifestyle and complaining about every detail and every decision I made or am making that he disagrees with, still i really missed him.
Grace came over for lunch, I didn't mention Winston once because I know how annoying she gets whenever I talk about my relationship with him and it pisses me off. but she brought it up.
"so did you see him again?" she asked.
"did I see who?" I said pretending I don't know who she's talking about and she laughed.
"that Winston guy" she said with a tone and I wanted to punch her.
"yeah actually i did, he came over last night"
"seriously Alice? you met him like three days ago! I thought you were better than this" she snapped.
"dude relax, I said he came over, nothing happened" I snapped back "and plus you don't get to tell me what to do or in this case who I do it with" i added.
"you know what, I'm just looking out for you but fine do whatever the hell you want see if I care" she said walking out.
I didn't get where all of this is coming from, its not like Winston did anything to make her hate him or some shit. she was really getting on my nerves.
I went to work and it was practically empty, just a couple of people and the same old man by the bar. so I was basically just sitting down doing some paper work that I was avoiding the entire week.
I saw Ben walk in, he smiled at me and walked over to the table.
"Hey, Alice right?" he asked with one eye closed hoping he got it right.
"Yeah" I laughed
"How are you?"
"I'm great, what brings you here?" I wondered.
"we're recording a few blocks away and I needed some fresh air, then I thought I might as well get some beer" he explained.
"oh, well let me get you some" I said and walked over to the bar filling a glass with beer.
"Thank you"
"so how are you guys doing" I asked.
"everything's amazing, we're almost done recording just a few bits here and there left" he said taking a gulp of his beer.
"that's great"
"yeah we're really excited and nervous, just hoping we don't fuck it up you know?" he giggled.
"you'll do great, you work really hard. it'll pay off I promise"
"well I better go, thanks for the beer Alice"
"no problem"
before Ben headed to the door the turned back.
"there's this party over at Nick's place, you should come" he told me.
"uh sure I'll try to make it".
I had no idea who Nick was.

two hours later Winston called me and my heart dropped seeing his name on my phone screen.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey you, so Ben told you about nicks little rave up?" he said with an excitement in his voice.
"yeah but I don't know where it's at.."
