Chapter Seventeen: Welcome Home

Zayn POV

"You came back at the right time," i told Lexi as we were sitting on the couch, Lea in her lap playing with her small toy. Lexi continued to brush Lea's hair in content, a smile on her face. Niall had gone with Liam to see what was taking Harry and Louis so long to get here. It's not like the house is far from where we all are living. That's why we got our own places. 

"Did i," Lexi asked as she turned and smiled at me.

"Yup. I'm off today so you, Lea and I can do whatever we want. And the boys want to see you of course."

Just as i said that, Harry and Louis came running through the door, pushing each other so they both could get to Lexi.

"Lexi," they both screamed at the same time. 

"Guys, she's holding Lea," i said as Lea was scrambling onto my lap to get away from the noise the two grown men were making.

"Sorry," they both said again. They lowered their heads and pouted their lips before looking up through their eyelashes and extending their arms out for a hug.

Lexi giggled and got up, going to hug the two men that she hasn't seen in three months. 

"I missed you guys," she said as she came back from the hug.

"We missed you too," Harry answered for both of them. 

"Which is why we are throwing you a party tonight. So dress nice. You're coming over to mine," Louis stated with a smirk on his face. 

"What about Lea?"

"Lou is gonna take her for the night. It's gonna be a playdate with Lux and all. It's all covered don't worry about it."

"Don't worry about it' he said. 'It's covered' he said," i mumbled under my breath as i cleaned up the rest of the party and party people off of my floor. The party was crazy and you would think that i would be the one enjoying it but i wasn't. I wasn't the same guy i was before i even knew Lea existed. Now that Lea was in my life, i made it to seem like i was the more responsible one along with Liam in the group. But tonight, Liam let loose and we saw a Liam that we haven't seen in forever. Dani was always holding him back in the back of his mind when we would go out as a group to get a round of drinks. He would be cautious of the people around him and would only have one drink in his hand the whole night. Tonight, he had about 8 or 9 drinks plus shots. He wasn't the same anymore. Now he was sprawled out on my couch, his face in the cushions snoring away. I tried to stay near Lexi but something always tore me away from her whether it was watching the boys or making sure everything in my house wasn't broken. 

"What a party," Lexi said as she came out of the kitchen with teas in her hand. "Here."

"Thanks," i said as i took the tea out of her hand. We sat on the empty couch cuddled together, watching my stupid drunk friends move in their sleepy state. 

"It was pretty funny though."

"I'm sorry those two. They said that it was gonna be at Louis's house but i guess they changed that statement."

She shrugged. 

"It's okay though. He sure knows how to throw a party."

"We can go upstairs if you want. These guys will be out for the rest of the night."

"Okay."

I took her cup in my hand as well as mine and we walked up stairs toe to toe to our room right next to Lea's.

"Why didn't you drink at the party," she asked once i closed the door.

"I don't know," i answered as i shrugged. "I guess i just kept thinking about Lea and i just couldn't."

She nodded her head, swinging her feet on the edge of the bed. 

"She changed you a lot i see."

"Yeah," i said as i smiled, looking at the ground. "I guess so."

She wrapped her arms around my neck, placing her forehead on mine.

"I know so."

All i could do was stare into her beautiful eyes. I've come a long way from where i have been before. From Lea being left on my doorstep, to learning that Kayla killed herself and haunted me for months, i've been doing pretty well for myself. Also rememebering how i met Nina and all the trouble i went through just to keep her close to me because all in all i knew there was something that kept me to her, that made me want to keep her close. And now i have this little family with me and nothing could get any better than this.

"Nina," i mumbled near her ear.

"Mhm?"

"Will you do me a favor?"

"Sure."

She shifted so that she was sitting on my lap, leaning back enough to just see my face but not fall back.

I swallowed, getting nervous for some reason but i knew this was what i wanted. 

"Will you marry me?"

I"ll post the ending scene and then this story will be done.

I'm sorry to end it early.

I just think that i have too many books going on right now.

But i thank you all for reading this and dealing with my slow updates.
