Chapter 16: Realization

Logan's POV

" Maybe I know somewhere, deep in my soul, that love never lasts.

And we've got to find other ways to make it alone and keep a straight face.

And I've always lived like this. Keeping it comfortable.

Distance.

" What songs that?" Kale asked as we laid on her bed listening to one of my mixed CDs.

" The only exception by paramore." I murmured.

This song -especially that part- makes me think of Kyle like crazy. I thought I was going to be alone forever but he was the only exception.

" Let's do something today." Kale suggested suddenly. I shrugged and looked at ground.

"C'mon Logan please it'll help get your mind off Kyle." She pleaded. I sighed.

" Fine but let me change." I agreed. Kale pumped her fists in the air.

" Meet me in the car in 15 minutes!!" She squealed and shoved me out of her room so we both could get changed.

I went into my closet and pulled out a pair of dark baggy jeans. I slipped into them and grabbed a rainbow studded

belt.

I grabbed a plain white tang top and pulled it over my head. It was fairly clingy, showing off just how much my weight has decreased. All the weight on my body is muscle now.

I think I've lost about 40 pounds from when I first came here. I'm a solid 100 pounds now. Ever since Kyle left.

I tore myself away from the mirror as quickly ran a brush through my hair and threw on my DC hat, stepped into my vans, and grabbed my wallet and phone.

" Logan hurry up!!!!" Kale yelled honking her cars horn. I laughed and ran downstairs.

" Took you long enough!" She teased. I stuck my tongue out at her playfully.

" So where are we going?" I asked. She shrugged.

" Your helpful." I muttered smirking.

" How about we see a movie!!??" Kale exclaimed. I nodded.

" I'll call Nick and you call Jake!!" I exclaimed. She nodded and we both texted our boyfriends.

" Nick said he'll meet us here." I said. Kale nodded.

" Same with Jake."

We drove in silence and I regretted what I was wearing. Nick always hated when I was wearing clothes that reveal my skinnyness. He says it disgusts him.

I checked to make sure all my cuts were covered by my wristbands then watched out the window.

" You know Logan, Nick doesn't defy you. He has an opinion but so does everyone else and theirs is better then his." Kale said as if reading my thoughts.

I shrugged and flipped my hair over my now tearing up eyes. She sighed.

" Logan your too sensitive. Everything hurts you and being with Nick is only gonna hurt you." She said softly. I nodded.

" I can't leave him though. He loves me." I whimpered.

" No sweetie. I hate to break it to you, but he just wants control and someone to hurt." She said sadly. I squeezed my eyes shut now accepting the truth.
