Dan unlocked the screen and read the message again.

Dan we need to talk as soon as I get home. Big news. Kinda nervous to tell you. 😱

What was Phil talking about? Dan had no clue, but it definitely was important. Phil hardly ever used that emoji. What happened? He only went out to buy eggs and coffee..
Now he felt nervous too. He couldn't wait for his boyfriend to be back again.
Dan entered the kitchen and prepared hot chocolate with marshmallows along with some caramel cookies they made the previous day for their "Christmas collab". Usually the results were questionable, but that time the cookies were perfect. They were supposed to be a little gift for their friends, but they failed miserably by eating half of the batch while editing the video.
Dan took the two cups and the little tray in the living room, but Phil wasn't back yet.
He checked his phone again, hoping for another message with more informations, but there was none.
He tried to distract himself replying to some festive tweets he received early in the afternoon but he wasn't really in the mood. He wanted to know what Phil meant with that weird message.
When he finally heard the sound of the key opening the door, he immediately got up from the couch, crossed the hallway and reached Phil.

- Hey.
- Hey! - answered Phil panting. - It's snowing outside!! It's so cold!
- Snowing! I haven't noticed it..
- Uuh! I smell chocolate!
- Yeah, there's a cup for you too in the living room.
- Mhm! Yummy!! Have you eaten all the cookies or there's a chance..?
- They're right there for you - interrupted Dan pointing at the table.
- Aw that's really nice - said Phil just a second before smacking a little kiss on Dan's warm cheek. He loved doing that.
- Well I'm not the one who eats everything here...
- Oh shut up Dan! - smiled Phil before sipping the hot chocolate.
- So... We have to talk.
- Yep.
- About what? I'm kinda confused.
- Are you sure you want to talk now? I don't wanna ruin your mood.
- Is it that serious?
- Sort of..
- Jesus Phil, can you please tell me something more?
- Alright, come sit down close to me. You're warm, I need you closer.
- Dan the heat dispenser. New video every winter. - said with sarcasm.
- Ok you dork, come here and listen to me.

Phil stretched his legs over Dan's tights while searching for his incredibly hot hands.

- Now is definitely better - concluded Phil, looking straight at Dan's eyes.

- Ok... I'm scared of how you may react. Ok. So, while I was shopping, Luke called me.
- Luke... Bbc Radio One Luke?
- Yes.
- Does he have any projects for 2016?
- Yes. Sweden. For the whole spring and summer. Bbc will do a special something, he hasn't told me exactly what to be honest, but he need a Internet personality to cover most of the events and that's why..
- Woah! This is awesome Phil! Why were you so nervous? It's a great news you dork!
- Dan... We've been around the world and back this year.. Japan, the tour, US... I'm not sure I'm ready for another year abroad.
- What?! Are you kidding me. We had so much fun! Japan was like... Heaven!
- Yes. We had so much fun, you're right, that's why I'm not sure..
- Ehm.. I think I lost you here.
- Me, Dan. Luke asked me to go to Sweeden. Alone.
- Oh. - Dan froze. Now it was clear.
- Dan please, don't take it as..
- No, wait. I wasn't ready for this. Just.. Give me a couple minutes.
- Don't go away please, don't leave my hands!

Too late. Dan left the room in a rush.

Phil knew it would have happen. Dan had never been able to process a shocking news. He needed his time, he knew well.
After a couple of minutes Phil slowly entered their room, finding Dan face down on the bed, standing still.
Without saying a word, Phil lied down close to him, bodies touching again.
- Are you ok..? - whispered after some moments.
