Antonio's POV:I walked through the hall of the school stunned at what just happened. I made my way to the cafeteria and bought myself a pulled pork sandwich and a salad.
I sat at the table with my friends as we laughed and ate our food while Dario made fun of some nerdy kid. But all I could think about was the kiss.
Me and Iris kissed!
She must like me. I mean she kissed me first. I never knew she had it in her. Maybe she's not as much of a goody-goody as I thought.
"Uh dude? Your pork is literally falling out of your bun." Dario said. All my friends started laughing and I swore when the insides of my sandwich fell on the floor.
"Jeez, what's got you in such a tizzy?" Asked Brett. Brett is the quarterback on the football team. He has been one of my friends sense grade nine. He also has a way with the ladies.
"Nothing." I said monotone as I ate my BBQ flavour bun. Yum.
After lunch and 4th period I made my way to 5th period. I saw Iris and went to sit behind her.
"Hey Gatito." I smirked.
She smiled back and slightly blushed.
"Hey. I'm really excited to meet your family!" She said excitedly.
Oh, I didn't think of that. When she sees my mom and sees her leg and arm she's going to wonder about my past.. Is that something I'm willing to tell her?
"I'm glad!" I half lied. I was glad she's excited to meet them, I'm just not so excited for her to meet my past, and my present.
This is why I didn't want to get close to her. It's to late now.
"All right class turn to page 55 in your textbook." The teacher said. Iris turned to the front of the class and did what the teacher said.

"Oh my god! Have you no humanity!" Squealed Iris. I started laughing at her horrified face.
I annoyed her all class by kicking under her chair. Childish, yes. But hilarious, even more!
Somehow we were on the topic of me being super annoying, witch lead to cats, witch lead to me talking about how I wasn't sad when my goldfish died.
"It was just a goldfish! It's not like it had feelings! All it does is swim around in circles all day!" I defended.
"Still." Said Iris crossing her arms.
We both started laughing as we approached my bike.
We hopped on and sped down the road until we got to my house.
Iris's POV:
"Mamá I'm home!" Antonio called.
"Oh! Happiness!" She called. I could tell definitely, she was Spanish. Her beautiful accent echoed She must be just learning English.
Antonio grabbed my hand and walked into the room his mom was in. The house seemed very quiet.
When I looked at his mom sudden sadness filled my heart. I noticed she was missing an arm and a leg. I instantly felt bad.
"Oh dulce, No worry!" She called noticing my worried expression.
I guess Antonio isn't the only one who calls me nicknames. Maybe it's a Spanish thing?
"Nice to meet you! Antonio hasn't told me much about you but you seem like such a nice lady! I can't wait to get to know you. How many other kids-" Antonio grabbed me around my waste making me jump a little. Tingles and butterflies shot through my veins from his touch.
