Just a heads up guys this entire book will be in Lucy's POV. Thanks!
==========================================================
I sat on the edge of my bed. I stretched with a yawn and heard my bones pop. I had fought a Limbless the night before.
"Lovely" I mutter before getting off my bed and pulling on my usual gear. Black t-shirt, black hoodie, grey tights, and size 7 ectoplasm proof boots. I brushed out my hair before heading downstairs for breakfast. The wolf part of me wanted bacon while the human half wanted toast. So I decided that I would have both as I entered the kitchen I was greeted by everyone in unison.
"Morning Lucy." They said it so perfectly timed I narrowed my eyes. It was almost as if they had practiced. I sensed something fishy and it took all my will power not to let my wolf growl at the three of them: Lockwood, George and Holly. Instead I narrowed my eyes even farther as I served myself breakfast.
"Alright whats going on you three?" I ask as I sit down but I don't touch my food. Lockwood shifts uncomfortably in his chair.
"Why would anything be wrong Luce?" He doesn't meet my eyes when he says it. I fight back a snarl.
"Because that sounded practiced. Whats going on?" I cross my arms not taking his pathetic excuses for an answer.
"Lockwood just tell her." George says it so quietly I almost think I didn't hear it.
"Tell me what?" I ask leaning forward on my chair.
"Well Lucy we've been worried about you." Lockwood starts fidgeting in his lap where he thinks I can't see. " You haven't been yourself lately. You barely eat these days. Your not very talkative and you haven't been fighting with George. We think somethings wrong. Are we right?" I hesitate. Yes they were but I couldn't tell them about my sister or my wolf, none of it. That would make them targets. Instead I force a smile.
"Why of course not Lockwood! Your all just being overprotective!" I say cheerily. None of them look convinced.
"I need to run!" My wolfs voice breaks into my head.
"Just wait!" I snarl back in my head. I focus back into reality again. Their all looking at me.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"You did it again" Lockwood says leaning back in his chair.
"Did what?"
"Zoned out. We said your name and you didn't respond. Lucy whats going on?"
"Nothing." I say tersely. Lockwood's eyes narrow. "Nothing." I say it a bit gentler this time. I couldn't let them know. It would only put them at risk. I know my sister is coming. They can't be in they way when she gets here.
Otherwise she'll kill them all.
