Our Surprise.

9. He's gone.

Half an hour later I was finally able to hold my son. It was when I was finally stitched up, clean and back in the room we were originally in that I got to hold him. It was just Liam an I in the room at the moment, the boys left to go to get the bag I had packed for when this happened but I didn't know that what was happening was Kairi telling me he was coming.

"He really does look like you Li.." I looked at my son and up at my boyfriend. He had his phone out and pointed at me. "Come on Li.. put it away. I don't want my picture taken. I probably look terrible." I told him. He didn't listen though.

He just smiled and shook his head. "You look like you just had a baby, and this is the most beautiful I have ever seen you. So don't worry about it." I smiled at my boyfriend.

Kairi was sleeping when the boys waked in the room. The however came in very loud, and woke him up. This caused the newborn to start to fuss, I shushed him and rocked him back to sleep. "Guys you have to be quieter." Liam told them. They apologized.

"Can I hold him? I washed my hands and everything." Harry asked, very eager to hold his nephew.

I laughed to my self. "Sit down." I told him nodding to the side of the bed. I handed Kairi over to Harry, minding his head. "Support his head, Harry." He nodded and looked down at him.

"Hi, Kairi.. I'm Harry." he said, rocking Kai back and forth.

"What's his full name?" Louis questioned. I looked up from Harry and my son.

"Hmm? Oh.. Kairi James Payne. Liam an I decided he would have his last name." I told him as I was handed Kai back, Harry stood up and Niall replaced him. Niall didn't want to hold him right now, which was fine. I sorta just wanted to hold my son for a bit.

We laughed and joked around til visiting hour were over. Kairi was taken to the nursery so they could do their checkups, when he comes back he'll be able to stay in the room with me. Liam was in the bed with me when the nurse came in and told us that every one who wasn't a daddy had to go home, but they could come back around five tonight. There were some groans, but they all left without any trouble.

"You know, I have a special question to ask you." Liam started, when we had Kairi back in the room. I was sitting up with my legs crossed feeding him. Liam had a sleepy smile on his face due to being up since three in the morning and it now being noon.

"So here goes nothing. Zayn, since the first day I met you I didn't know this is how we would end up. Now it's nearing four years later and we're still going strong. When we first met I knew that it was the start of something I didn't want to end. That of course was the start of One Direction. Then shortly after that we had out first secret date, and now, well, we have a handsome little son and I couldn't be more in love you with than I already am. I know that we have our ups and downs but every couple does. I've loved you since we were eighteen and I will continue to love you for the rest of my life if you'll left me." He moved to kneel beside the be, taking Kairi out of my arms and setting him flat on the bed in front of me.

"What are you doing Li?" Kairi had on foodie pj's that Liam had put on him. I didn't pay much attention to it.

When I saw it though, a gasp escaped. Tears started but well in my eyes. The onesie had the words "Will you marry my daddy?" Printed onto it. A hand went to my mouth as Liam pulled out the silver ring. It was pure beauty. The black diamond, set perfectly in the metal that made it look like a flower. White diamonds littered down the sides. I love it.

"Will you marry me, Zayn?" My tears have fallen by now and Liam is waiting patiently for my answer.

I nodded, "Yes. A hundred time yes!" I pulled him in for a hug, muttering an 'I love you' as I did. I continued to cry as he placed the ring on my finger.
