I don't know why
but I'm always alone.
while my family leaves
to watch the football game,
or when they go to dinner,
while I'm shopping
or even at school
with my friends leaving
for another person.
and tonight
as I sit on the chair
(while everyone's on the couch)
with the dog right next to me
he trots off for someone else.
alone.
