Who We Are

There are are times in life when we're too focused on who we used to be and who we will become, to realise how amazing we are right now. And I know more than most that it is hard to forget who you used to be, especially when you hate who that was. I also know that it's hard not to worry about your future when you have no idea what it holds. And I also know that those things don't define us- I didn't always know it, but I do now. And sometimes that's the only thing that matters. Sometimes you need to focus on the now.

Because all the tears you've cried don't define you. All your mistakes don't define you. All the times you've fallen don't define you. All your hurt and pain: they don't define you. Because sometimes bad things happen to good people, and that is beyond our control. Don't define yourself by that.

Your definition and  your identity are things you can control, they are choices you can make. So for the moment, forget about your past, stop worrying about your future, and bring your attention to the person you are right now, more importantly, the person you are choosing to  be at this moment in time. Because that's what defines you, and that is who you are. You can change that person, and you can decide whether you want to continue being that person.

You can't change what has happened to you and you can't decide what will. That's not your decision. So when you get the chance to make your own decision in life, and when you can choose exactly what kind of person you want to be; make a good decision, because that will determine who you are.

(A/N) Hey guys, I actually don't know what this is, but I kind of like it and I feel like it's pretty decent so I decided to post it. I've also realised that the new year is starting and I've got some really important decisions to make. In February I have to decide what subjects I have to take for next year and I still have no idea.

So, I have been really busy lately but I have been writing a lot, though most if it isn't good enough to post yet.

Last chapter I posted my first actual poem so if you haven't read it then please consider doing so because I really want to hear some feedback on it.

I've realised that the reads, votes and comment on this book are decreasing so I've decided to set my goal as three votes and one comment for this chapter.

Thank you for reading.
