Ch 1.5 Vale
"Run.." Lunaria sofly mutters, her body falling to the ground as life slowly left from her. "Ves...per.."
"Lunaria!" Everyone called out, rushing to her as they ignored the humans around them.
"These monsters are idiots, are you seriously rushing to your deaths?" The man who stabbed Lunaria chuckled, pointing his blade towards Asuka and the others.
"Asuka, look out!" Seris yelled, rushing to Asuka's side as she blocks an attack that came from behind. "It's not the end. Everybody, run!"
"Y-yeah!" Ayumu replied, rushing to the forest along with Asuka, though stops halfway as they look back.
"Seris?" They called, worried as they saw Seris fighting off the humans by herself, blocking their way as she fought defensively.
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. We'll see each other again after this, I promise!" She shouts, kicking one of the enemies in their guts as she tumbled back, rotating her body as she strikes another.
"Gahk!" She shrieked, one of the humans managing to hold a grip of her hair, pulling it as Seris was stopped at her place.
"Now die." The human said, poking his sword through Seris' body, forcibly pulling it out after as he kicks her body off to the ground.
"Asuka, quick! Let's go." Ayumu pulled Asuka's hand as she runs off to the forest, Asuka staring in shock.
As soon as they entered through the trees, they stopped in their tracks once more as a silhouette moved closer to them.
Immediately, the silhouette vanished, leaving only a gust of wind as leaves everywhere flew towards Asuka's direction.
"Hey." A man called from behind them. Asuka and Ayumu look back in reaction, seeing a familiar body that was bathed in red as it was carried by the cloaked man.
"You're safe now... Sorry for making you suffer for so long." The man whispered under his breath, lifting his arm up as he catches a blade rushing towards them, stopping it only a few millimeters away from his eye with a single finger by the blade's end. "The tyranny of humans have gone on long enough."
With a quick sweep, he flicks the sword away as he ducks down, his own sword hitting the ground as he lets go of Vesper, landing his body beside Asuka. The man then charged against the enemy, his hand on the handle of his sword. The opponent prepares to guard, but is startled as the man dissappears from his sight in a second.
With a quick flash, the black coated human fell to the ground with a deep cut in his back, the cloaked man standing behind with his sword drawn out and bloody.
Another human appears as he attempts to surprise the man, charging with his sword forward as he comes out from the bushes. Once again, the cloaked man vanished from sight, a sharp kick landing behind the human as he falls to the ground as well.
"This isn't a one on one fight you know." The Cloaked man taunted, returning the sword he had to it's buckle. Then he started muttering, "One, two..." Counting as he gripped the handle once more. "Six, there are six of you."
Suddenly, he vanished once again. Short shrieks screeched in short intervals as leaves started following one path to another with the wind blowing differently by the second.
Though meanwhile, Asuka sat surprised, watching the wind shift directions as Ayumu treated Vesper who bled beside them.
"Who.. Is he..?" Asuka muttered under her breath as she heard the cries of the humans. In a few moment, the man reappeared in front of them with six bodies at his hands, three for each shoulder.
"That's all of them.." He implies, dropping their bodies on the ground as he wipes the blood from his blade. "I guess humans have gotten stronger than 500 years ago. I guess in 400 years of coexistence, they've been training to slaughter the monsters who they slowly made soft."
"This plan of theirs is really treacherous, but I guess 70 years of slaughter weren't enough to kill every monsters too." He was muttering under his breath, as if he was in his own monologue.
"Don't worry, lycans tend to regenerate faster at night." He says, staring at the dark sky as he approaches Asuka.
Though a bit cautious, Ayumu aims at the man with her bow, standing in front of Asuka. "Who are you?" She asked.
"It's... Hmmm... What was my name again?" He replied, dazing off for a few seconds. He shakes his head to remove the thought as he blurts out a name, "Vale. Was it? I think.."
"You think?" Ayumu followed, her fingers twitching a bit as the arrow was almost shot.
"Umm... Yeah? Well, you don't really need my name to trust me... Right?" He chuckled.
"Humans are dangerous creatures, we wouldn't trust you even if you told us." Asuka replies, standing in front of Ayumu as she wielded her katana.
"Really? I just saved your friend there." The man retorts.
"How would we know you weren't the one who did this to him?" Ayumu reacts.
"Listen.. I--" The man gets cut off as a chuckle echos around the forest.
"Because it was me." A blue haired man with a ponytail appeared as he charges at Ayumu with his blade from behind.
"That's proof enough, isn't it?" 'Vale' chuckles, appearing on top of the ponytailed man as he stomps his head hard into the ground, a smug smirk on Vale's face. "You could even ask that friend of yours yourself."
