"Do you have to go?" He whispered softly. My heart was breaking watching him. My baby, our sweet baby, squirmed in my arms. Tears prickled at the corner of my eyes as I thought of raising her without Ash.

"We can't raise a baby on the road Ashton. Hotel rooms are for lovers, not new mothers." I glanced up at him. His eyes reflected my breaking heart. The baby started crying and I tried to rock her, calming in this painful situation.

"Here, let me." Ash  gently, tenderly lifted the baby from my arms, cradling our precious baby to his chest. He started humming a song softly, one I didn't recognize at first. But looking at him, I realized I couldn't walk away. I couldn't take away his chance to be a father. He spent his life without his, how could I keep him from being better than the man that hurt him? I stepped closer and rested my head on his shoulder, listening softly as he sang.

"If we're falling apart, I will fight for your heart. I can be your shield, I'll fight on the field, baby when Life gets colder, I'll be your Soldier." I looked at the baby in his arms, sleeping soft and sound. He pulled her close and kissed her forehead. I wiped away the tears that I had only just noticed. He looked at me and brushed one thumb under my eyes. "I'll be your soldier, too." He pulled me to his side. "Please don't go. Don't take my two favorite girls from me." I sighed, burying my face against him.

"Alright. But one day?" I looked up at him. He was grinning from ear to ear.

"One day, a house, for us. A family. A big, happy family." He pulled me close to his side, keeping me and his baby girl safe. My Soldier.
