Chapter 1

It's been 10 years since the unfortunate morning when Mr Dursley found Harry on his doorstep. Since that day, the Dursleys had been through jit, trying to make the arrival of a small boy, their nephew, normal. The neighbours stood on their tiptoes and peered over the fence, always watching this peculiar boy grow. Now, he was 11 years old, which is slightly younger than Dudley, had round glasses and from the day they found him, a lightning mark on his forehead. At first, Mrs Dursley thought he had fallen and just by luck it was in that shape. And it did. Except, the scar did not fade. It stayed full and large. This, as it would most people, scared Mrs Dursley. It just showed that he is a freak, like Dudley calls him. Harry didn't care though. Why should he?

But something peculiar did happen. Several weeks after Harry had been discovered, another letter arrived in the post. It was of deep luxury, the envelope like pure silk and the paper silk itself. It was labelled to the Dursleys and Mrs Dursley didn't even have to open it to know who it was from. However, she did anyway.

Dear the Dursleys, it read.

We have been honoured that you have listened to the previous letter. We were very lucky you didn't try to chuck Harry away, otherwise we would have had to endure severe magic placed upon your house so that no wizard or witch could enter or leave the house. But you cannot tell Harry about his mothers heritage or his fathers. He cannot know. When the time is most right, we shall send a letter to him so that he may join our school of witchcraft and wizardry, at the age of 11, and he may join us. However, the school is not on forever and he will return to your accompany for the terms. Thank you. You are of great help.

Yours Sincerely,

Professor Albus Dumbledore

Professor Minerva McGonagoll

This was alright. It meant nothing to them if Harry could know about his heritage or not. They just had to pretend he wasn't like a fire-breathing dragon or a freaky witch guy who could kill them. They just hsd to pretend. Fair enough. But this Mr Dursley didn't like. He didn't like life being a big game for kids to play. He wanted it to be serious, hardwork although he knew that now, this would never be possible for the Dursley. Mr Dursley swore that if he ever met this Mr Albus fellow, he would certainly kill him. No doubt about it. Mr Albus destroyed his dreams of being normal for once. He knew what it was like being different, except Mr Dursley's difference was very different to Harry's difference. Mr Dursley had been bullied and laughed at for dreaming of being a star, earning millions and working at Harrods. When he was young, that was like wishing your car could fly or dreaming that one day you could live on Jupiter. Stupid.

Harry was only young but each letter they recieved scared them even more. Some came saying, 'Remember, he musn't know' or 'His eleventh birthday is tommorow'. That was the one that scared them the most but it also cheered them the most. At the age of eleven, Harry would go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and become a threat to all humans living. Yay.

It was on the morning of his eleventh birthday when it came. The letter. The letter that Harry would read and then he would know. He would know that he was a wizard and a wizard that was going to become awesome. Maybe Harry would take it bad. Maybe he would refuse to go. Maybe. Just maybe. But that's all they could hope for. It was also Dudleys birthday in several days time so the family and Harry were going to a desert island in the middle or nowhere. A. So Dudley could enjoy his birthday and B. So that maybe Harry wouldn't have to go to that witchy school and wouldn't recieve the letter and sure in hell wouldn't have to go to the school. They hadn't told him about his parents yet though. They had made up that they had died in a car crash and Harry had been lucky.
