Chapter 5

When I woke up the next morning I heard someone knocking on the door so I got up with my gun and went to see who it was, because nobody is supposed to know about this place.
I got to the door and opened it aiming my gun at the culprit. "Woah! Is that how you're supposed to greet your father around here?" He said and I lowered my gun.
"What are you doing here dad and why didn't you call?" I asked and he came inside. "I heard someone was after you and decided to come help and I couldn't get you on your phone." He said and I nodded.
It would be pointless to argue with him because he's a retired Marine and hard headed. "Well I think I have an extra guest room upstairs at the end of the hall." I said and he nodded.
Just then Sarah came down the stairs and her eyes lit up seeing our guest. "Grandpa!" She shouted and ran up to him. "Hey sweetheart, good to see you." He said smiling and Russell came in the room probably to investigate.
He saw my dad and dad looked at him. "I didn't know you had a dog Lucian." He said.
"This is Russell, don't worry he's very gentle-natured." I said and Russell went up to dad to shake his hand. "And he knows a few tricks thanks to Sarah." I said as dad shook his paw.
When the team came downstairs I introduced them to dad since he's never really met anyone from my team."Dad this is the team with my captain, Douglas Johnson, Lieutenants Marcus Hart, and Silas Martin, and Ensigns Jacob Rice and Alex Ferguson, team, this is Jonah Phillips, my dad." I said.
"Nice to meet you sir." They said and saluted him as he saluted them back.
"So what's this about someone coming after Lucian and his family?" He asked my captain. "We don't know, that's what we're trying to figure out." He said and dad nodded.
I decided to hook up the DVD player so Sarah could watch her movies she brought and one of them was Frozen. I don't know what kids see in that movie, but if it makes her happy she can watch it all she wants.
I got it hooked up and turned on and she put her movie in and surprisingly she put The Hunger Games in. Then Georgia came down the stairs and I went over to her.
"Dad dropped in for a visit would you show him to his room at the end of the hall?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Also it's time for my patrol with my captain so I'll see you in a little bit." I said and she went to get my dad to show him to his room.
"Okay captain I guess it's time we relieve the night watch." I said and he nodded.
We went outside and told the night guards that they could go inside and sleep until they decided to wake up so they did.
"How's your little boy and girl captain?" I asked as we were making our rounds around the property. "They're good Miley is twelve and Kevin is fourteen, both honor roll students." He said and I nodded.
"You know if it wasn't for my family being threatened I would be out there hunting the people down, but I have to keep them safe." I said and he nodded.
"I know, I would be the same way." He said.
We made our rounds and then went up to the house since it should be about time for breakfast, we got up at 4 when my dad showed up.
Georgia had bacon and eggs fixed for breakfast so we ate and then went to the training center.
Dad came with us to see how the building looked and he looked surprised when we got there. "I figured this place would be different but not much has changed since I was trained here." He said and I nodded.
"I made sure everything was cleaned and in working order once a month when it was possible for me to come down here, even cleaned some graffiti from one of the outside walls and after I put a sign up I haven't had anymore trouble." I said and he nodded.
We all trained for a few hours working on different equipment after running the course and then stepped outside. It was snowing, something that doesn't happen very often in Florida so I know Sarah will be happy.
"Time to get back to the house I know Sarah's going to enjoy this snow when it's deep enough to play in." I told dad and he nodded with a smile.
"It's good to see you back from wherever it was you were held captive at although they seem to have followed you." He said and I agreed.
"Glad to be back, I had to make sure my escape plan was perfect or I would be dead." I said.
"How did you escape Lucian?" Captain Johnson asked and I told him. "I basically took the 'play dead' course of action and fooled their commanding officer." I said and he laughed.
"I guess that training does pay off." He said and I nodded. "He was so angry with the two that were stabbing me." I said laughing with him.
Unknown's POV:
I sat out of sight in the tree line as that SEAL, Lucian, talked about how he fooled me and my guys. 'Just keep laughing, we'll see who has the last Laugh.' I thought and then left the area. I have to have the perfect plan to get him to his knees so we can kill him and I know just how to do it.
Lucian's POV:
We walked back up to the house and Sarah was already outside in her coat playing with the little bit of snow that was forming on the ground. "Having fun Sarah?" I asked and she nodded. "I can't wait until it's deeper." She said and I nodded as we went inside.
Wednesday in December and it's snowing in Florida. It was hot yesterday, the weather is getting strange around here.
Georgia had lunch ready so we got our lunch and called Sarah inside for her food. We ate and I looked outside, the snow was getting pretty deep. "Look outside now Sarah." I said and she did.
"Can I go out there and play in it daddy?" She asked and I nodded. "Sure just get your coat on and some warm clothes under that." I said and she did and ran outside.
"She loves the snow, it's rare to happen but it's her favorite thing about the winter." I said and looked outside to see her building a fort. I helped with the dishes and fed Russell. I stepped outside and got hit by a snowball.
I looked up to see Sarah with her 'I'm innocent' face on. I picked up some snow making it into a snowball and threw it at her. It hit her in the arm and she dove for her fort. I stepped inside and called for my reinforcements and she called for hers. We divided my team and I had Lt. Hart, Lt. Martin and Ens. Rice on my team while Sarah had Georgia, my captain, dad, and Ens. Ferguson on hers.
We took cover behind the second fort she built and started the snowball war. Their team won and Sarah done her victory dance and I laughed. "We'll get you next time." I joked with her and she laughed and pulled Georgia to go build a snowman.
I went inside with my team and we talked a while. "We got your daughter something for Christmas it's waiting in her room, hope you don't mind." Captain Johnson said and I nodded. "Not at all, I know she'll like whatever it is." I said and asked what it was. "It's a laptop so she can communicate with you when you're away and have time." He said and I smiled.
"Yep she'll love it." I said and then thought of what I was going to get her. "I still gotta think of what to get her." I said and they nodded. "Two days until Christmas." Lt. Hart said and I nodded.
I decided I was going to go to town and look for something for her with Georgia and so I told my captain. "Okay Lt. Hart will go with you and I'll stay here with the rest of the guys and your dad to watch Sarah." He said and I nodded and went to the Jeep with Lt. Hart and got Georgia.
We got to the nearest Wal-Mart and went inside looking for something to get for her. "What's her favorite color?" I asked Georgia and she told me it was purple. We walked to the bikes and I got a purple bike for her after we got a few other things.
We would give her the bike when we got back but the other stuff we could hide until Christmas day. We got it all loaded in the Jeep and drove back to the safe house.
"Tell Sarah to cover her eyes when we get inside." I told Georgia and she did. She looked outside and motioned us inside. I carried the smaller gifts up to our room and went to get the gift from the team.
I set the laptop on the coffee table and told Sarah to keep her eyes closed and went to get her bike. "Ok you can open your eyes." I said and her eyes lit up seeing her gifts. "This is from the team." I said giving her the laptop. "And this is from me and your mother." I said showing her the bike. "Thank you." She said to everyone.
"You're welcome, now you will get the rest of your stuff on Christmas." I told her and she accepted with no problem.
We decided to eat sandwiches for supper and then go to bed. When I got to the master bedroom Georgia was there waiting for me with seductive music on. I climbed into bed with her and you know what happened next.
