[Jesse's POV]
I had sensed her moving around in bed all night, not being able to relax until she eventually got up and went to the bathroom. When Alexis came back, I motioned her to lay her head on my chest and as I stroke through her hair, she cried a bit more. Some when around three or four we both fell asleep and I was already planning on having a good talk with Sasha.
After delicious pancakes from my mom for breakfast, we distracted us with playing a bit with Lea, before I drove my girl home around twelve pm. She wasn't even fully inside, as I got my phone out and dialed Mikey's number. "I texted you and Jer yesterday, are you free this evening?" I said through my teeth, as I began to drive again.
Mikey picked me up later that day, when the sun was already setting. He drove the three of us to In-N-Out first. Over my double cheeseburger, I began to explain the situation. "This fucker touched Alexis, okay? I don't want that to ever happen again."
Mikey nodded and put his burger down. "My brother checked the working schedule. Sasha's shift will be over in twenty minutes."
"Okay, then we should better get rollin'." Jeremy concluded and I took a last few bites of my food, before we got up.
Sasha Boyd works at one of the 7/11 s here and while we waited in the car of my friend, we watched the backdoor carefully. It was really dark now and I chain-smoked in the backseat.
"What we're gonna do is, that Jeremy will stay just around the corner, so that he can warn us if anybody suddenly wants to go to the backdoor." My bearded friend nodded and I continued, pointing to the little door on the backside of the store. "Mikey, you and I will fucking teach him, alright?"
"Alright." Mikey said with a slight grin, as if we had won already.
We got out of the vehicle and ambled towards the corner. As I had explained, Jeremy stopped walking there, while Mikey and I were still getting closer to the door, which suddenly swung open and a big shape appeared and closed the door behind him.
"Boyd?" I yelled, now we were pacing towards the boy who had just looked up. In the dim light I could see his confusion. Only a few more feet and my fingers were already formed into a fist. His face made me even angrier now and without batting an eye, my fist flew through the darkness. The next thing I know was how his jaw felt against my knuckles and then seeing how he tumbled backwards. One of his hands touched the place I had hit him and he squinted his eyes, trying to figure out who I am. My next punch was straight into his stomach, nice and clean. This made him fall against the wall behind him and now there seemed to be enough light in my face.
"Jesse?" He stumbled and turned his head, only to see Mikey's hand swinging through the air this time. He slapped Sasha right across the face. The sound of skin on skin. Almost in the same movement, my friend kicked against one of his legs, so that that boy was lying on his back, still looking back and forth between us two. His breathing was heavy.
I hunkered down and grabbed his shirt, bringing Sasha up again, so that he'd look me in the eyes. I hissed at him "Did you really think we'd let you get away with that? Huh Sasha, did you think that, you fucking perv?!"
Suddenly, the big boy was pretty scared. Without waiting for an answer, I let go of his shirt and he dropped back on the floor. I still stared at him and my voice was not that furious anymore. "You won't ever touch her again. Look at Alex again. Think about her. Because I'll fucking end you."
I stood up again and kicked him once more, before lightening yet another cigarette. Then I turned to Mikey and we nodded at each other. As I turned around to walk away, I looked at Sasha a last time and other gazes met again. His was still full of fear, mine full of confidence. I tried to hide my smile and turned around again, walking towards Mikey's car.
