"You're not your mothers son," he said, hesitantly.
"What?" I said, laughing. What is that even mean? I looked over at my mom who had her mouth open and then to my dad who had a blank face like usual, but his eyes were slightly widened.
"Honey," Luna Tiara started, "a year before your birth, our pack was threatened by an extremely powerful rouge army. It was fortold that there would be a white Lycan born. They looked into every Lycan pack, at first they were peaceful, and schemed. They sent a few rouges to India and Australia to pose as wolves looking for refugee and conducted subtle tests. They didn't find anything there, so when they went to Africa. There the Lycans refused to give them refuge due to some prior rouge attacks happening, so the rouges assumed the pack had the white wolf. They raided the pack in Africa and killed more than half of the wolves before they realised they didn't have the Lycan they were looking for,"
"They realised that the wolf would be either here or in Switzerland, but since they already killed so many solve in Africa, they realised they couldn't just send a undercover team to find the wolf so they traveled to Europe and fought the pack there. Fortunately, the Lycan pack only faced few casualties, and created a pretty good dent in the rouge army. But still, a few rouges were able to look into the pack and realise the White wolf wasn't there. Now they knew that the wolf was going to be born into out pack, so after a few months of nursing their pack to the fullest, they started scheming to attack our pack,"
"When your mother found out she was pregnant, she was terrified. Your mother could sense that you were different, and with the recent rouge activity, it was too dangerous to be pregnant. Your father wanted your mother and the rest of your family to go into hiding far away, but your mother was already a month into her pregnancy, and she couldn't shift, meaning she would need to be protected at all times, which would not be possible if she left. So over time, we planned defences for who the rouges decided to attack, and safe places for all the women and children."
"But we underestimated the army, even when we thought we were overestimating them. The rouges somehow convinced the Howlers pack from Utah to join them too. At the time, the Howlers had over 2000 members, they were the biggest pack in the world. With the extra 900 fighters, the army was unstoppable. We Lycans are stronger and more powerful than than normal wolves. Many of us have special gifts that give us an advantage over others, but we were outnumbered, 1000 fighters versus our 200 and 200 Lycans and wolves that came to aid us from all over. They attacked us when you were being born in a wolf hospital in North Dakota, very close to here. We had gone there so that the doctors could run some small tests to see if your were special. I was there, with Hunter, who was just a baby at that time. Your grandmother and your older sister were running a bit late, but Glory and baby GG, and Lauren who just found out she was pregnant made it on time. Gamma McMair was there as well as a few guards. Your father and Gunner stayed in the pack because they were the strongest wolves,"
This time, Lauren, the alphas sister, spoke up.
"You were such an adorable baby, you put all of our children to shame," she laughs, lightening the serious mood, " you didn't even cry. Just looked at us, as if you were studying us. And when you saw your mother for the first time, your eyes widened and you just stared at her until the nurses took you away to clean you up."
Luna took over again. "That was when Gunner mind linked all of us that the pack was under attack. The nurses came back with you and the doctors were about to run the tests we wanted when one of the nurses fell. The doctors hurried to help her, but she didn't just fall, she was clawed in the heart from behind. Everything was a blur, and within a second, the second nurse was strangling you. One of the guards killed her, but then another doctor took you and held a knife to your throat. The attack was planned... The rogues knew you were special somehow, and they placed their people in positions that they knew would interact with you. We tried to bargain with him, but he would have it. He wanted you, and that was it. But lucky for us, there was chaos within the rouge army. See, there was some reward for the wolf who took you alive to the leader army, and so, all the undercover rouges started fighting for you. Now, everyone was fighting for you. There were about 30 rouges, and slowly, we took care of them, but at then end, you were still in the arms of a rouge. She had you in her arms with her claws extended," the Luna shuddered.
"What happened? How is he still here today?" My 'mother' asks. How was I adopted and she didn't even know? Is she playing around?
"At this time, your older sister, Elle, and your grandmother Corrine had arrived at the hospital. Your grandmother was one of the best fighters in here league. She snuck up behind the rouge and stuck her claw through her heart and grabbed you. Your sister was only 3 at that time, so she didn't understand what was going on, but when she saw you her eyes turned red she let out the loudest growl I have ever heard in my whole entire life. It was louder than all the Alphas I've ever heard- combined. Her growl shook the the ground, and and the windows broke. We didn't understand then, but your sister took after your great great grandfather, she was a protector. Specifically, your protector. Almost like your side kick. She fainted right after, and we all left to a safe house. We were going to see one of your grandmothers old friends, a sorceress. The sorceress, Annika, explained to us that the best thing for you was to be raised like a normal wolf. So we set out to the nearest pack, your adoptive mother's old pack," the Luna turns to my 'parents'.
"You had been seeking comfort after the loss of your first child, who died of heart failure. For this reason, we chose you to take care of our Ezra. We altered your memories a little, but the spell was to wear off when Ezra turned 19, or if it someone was to fill you in. In the next few days, you will experience flashbacks of the what really happened 18 years ago," she turns back to me. I study my 'mom'. She looked heartbroken, but a sense of familiarity went through her- as if she was remembering. I felt horrible, she just had to find out she lost her first child- and she had taken care of someone else's child for years!
"We were able to convince them to take you and leave back to your old pack before the rouges could attack. Your mother mourned, and we could all feel your fathers pain through the mind-link, but it was cut short as the rouges found us. They were furious when they couldn't find you anywhere, and since Annika masked your scent, they couldn't track you either. So instead they attacked. We were in the between the border of the USA and Canada, and a few reinforcement said came at our aid, but we lost so many good fighters. The fight was gruesome. The rouges slowly surrendered, but it didn't change the fact that so many had already died. Your mother took out the Alpha of the rouges. She didn't let anyone come within a few feet of her. She was so lost without her baby, and her wolf was extremely territorial over our pack. Finally, the fight was over, or at least that's what we thought. The surviving members regrouped, and slowly left back home. But there was other surprise ambush. This time, we weren't so fortunate. We were so exhausted and and the rouges would've taken us down easily. But your mother wouldn't have it. Her wolf completely took over. She couldn't think about anything but protecting others,"
"When a rouge approached your sister, she had it. She killed every rouge within 20 feet of her without hesitation. Your father came to aid us, also, killing a huge chunk of rouges out of anger and hatred," I interrupt her before she could say more.
"I apologize Luna, but I don't think I can handle any more, but I need to know, where are my birth parents and my sister?" this was driving me insane. The overwhelming urge to pull my hair out and bang my head on a wall consumed me. Last year, I was normal. I thought I would simply find my mate one day, carry out a happy life, and the end- but nooooo.
The Luna looks apologetic, and opens her mouth to speak, but I felt as if I already knew the answer, "Ezra-," but she was interrupted by another voice.
"They're dead," I, along with everyone else, turn around to see a tan skinned, dark haired girl at the door. She was tall, and had a fierce glare. Her striking blue eyes terrified me just a little, but her demeanor was welcoming.
"I've waited a long time to meet you," she says looking at me,"brother."
