Vince's POV Dress shopping with Holly.
Flashback~
"Okay Vince what about this one"Val said as she walked out in the craziest dress I have ever seen. It was white with random print all over the top, to make matters worse there were splashes of color everywhere. It looked like it was made out of newspapers that had been attacked by three year olds with crayons. Not that it looked bad on her, I mean if anyone could work a dress like this Val could.
“Wow, that’s um crazy” I said for lack of anything nicer to say. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings just in case she really liked this dress.
“In a good or bad way?” She asked.
"I don’t know please tell me you don't like that dress"I begged. I mean it was hideous after all.
"Of course I don't"Val said laughing and rolling her eyes at me.
“I just wanted to see your reaction.”
"Ha ha very funny"I said. Leave it to Val to do something like this
I was brought back to reality when Holly came out and coughed."Hey babe what do you think of this one"Holly ask as she posed in a flash orange and gold dress. "It looks nice" I said slightly strained. That dress was way too flashy for my taste I mean it could barely be called a dress. “Good cause this is the one I'm getting." I put on a fake smile, which I seemed to be doing a lot lately. "Great" I said trying to at least seem enthusiastic. My phone beeped as she entered her dressing room. I saw a new text from Val. I knew something was wrong, to be honest I worry about her a lot. I mean her family relationships aren’t exactly healthy.
"Why are you talking to her again?" Holly whined
"Cause she is my best friend" I reasoned, I knew exactly where this was going. I really didn’t want to fight with her right now.
“Why do you always have to talk to her?" she continued.
"Why do you always have to talk to the star football player?" I shot back before I had time to think about it. I mean seriously why did she always have to complain about Val. It just made me angry and she knows that. I swear she’s always looking for a fight.
"Because I'm a cheerleader, duh" She exclaimed.
"Well that’s not a good reason." I fought; I mean seriously plenty of cheerleaders don’t talk to the football stars all the time.
"Yes it is." She whined, clearly upset that I didn’t understand something like that."
Whatever let get going" I said calm, hoping to just forget about the fight and move on.
"Okay" was all she said. By the time the fight was done Val had to go.
The ride home with holly was silent except for her phone that went off every other minute. Man I wonder why it’s so quiet it’s never this quiet and who is she texting every other minute? I bet it’s the quarterback."I love you babe" Holly said when we got to her house. “I love you too” I said as she skipped off not waiting for my answer.
Wow what a night Val was upset plus Holly and I got in another fight. I needed to make at least some things better but by the time I got home it was ten o’clock. Man Val would be asleep by now. Maybe we could hang out tomorrow with Holly. I wonder why they hate each other so much.
I could bring my half brother Sam that way Val won't feel out of place. I don't think that they have met before but I’m sure Val would like him. That way if there’s any fighting between the two they have someone to comfort them or distract them in some way. Or worst case hold them back I thought as I fell asleep.
