Val’s pov

"The movie with Sam tonight was great. Guess what." I told Star

“What?" She asked just to humor me because she knew what I was about to say.

“He asked me out” I yelled into the phone, glad that she couldn’t see my happy dance.

"Oh my god I bet you guy look so cute together"

"We do" Not trying to be vain but we really did. Sam was only a few inches taller than I was which made him the perfect height for me. Therefore made us a cute couple. "

Lol. Well got to go talk to you later"

"Ok bye" I said as she hang up the phone.

Just as we hung up my phone went off. Which felt awkward let me tell you because I hadn’t filly gotten my phone away from my ear yet.

*Two new messages*

One from each of my two favorite people.

Text conversation with Vince.

Vince: I can't believe you’re going out with Sam.

Val: I know isn't it awesome. I haven’t had a boyfriend in forever.

Vince: no it’s not.

Val: why? I’m happy; I thought you would be happy for me to…

Vince: never mind got to go. I’ll talk to you later.

Val: bye?

End of conversation

Wow I wonder what his problem is. I don’t know why he is so upset about me going out with Sam. I mean sure he has always avoided having me meet or hang out with him. But still he chose to have me meet him, so he should have seen this coming. I wonder why he wouldn’t ever let me meet him before. I mean there must be something that he’s hiding from me. Maybe they just don’t get along. Although that is kind of doubtful.

Oh well he will tell me later, I hope. Or maybe he’s just sad that his best friend is no longer single. Not for romantic reason but for the whole ‘we won’t get to hang out as much now’ reason. But then again he is with Holly so maybe we could do double dates or something. I mean sure it’s not the same as hanging out but it would get Holly slightly off of his case about talking to me.

Or maybe he thinks it’s awkward that I’m with his half-brother. I really should have talked to him first, maybe there is something he isn’t telling me. Well it’s too late now; I guess we’ll both have to deal with it.

Text conversation with Sam.

Sam: hey baby

Sam: I had I great time at the movies

Val: me to but I got to go see you in school tomorrow.

Sam: okay bye baby I can't wait to see you

Val: I can’t wait to see you either

End of conversation.

I decided to go through with what I said and headed to bed. The truth is I had just used that as an excuse for not wanting to talk. I was still confused about Vince’s reaction. But there is no point on dwelling over it, all that will result in is a night without sleep.

The next day

"Wake up kiddo" my dad yelled from down stairs.

'Uhh why did school have to start so early?' I thought as I got my clothes and headed for a nice warm shower.

“Man I can't wait to see Sam today" I mumbled to myself. After my shower I did my hair and makeup. Which wasn’t normal for me but I had a boyfriend now and I wanted to make sure I looked okay. But I didn’t over do it, everything was natural colors and was just used to bring out my eyes more.

"Hey dad. What’s for breakfast?" I yelled as I ran down the stairs without tripping for once.I was proud of myself, normal i stumble and fall a lot, especailly in the early morning.

“A bagel” he replied.

I ate my bagel in a few minutes; I mean a girl’s got to eat to so what if I didn’t take microscopic bite. Then ran back up to the bathroom brushed my teeth and headed to school.

"Hey Star “I yelled to her

"Hey, how are thing with Sam" she ask winking. I opened my mouth to reply but I was cut off.

"Hey Val" Vince said as he pulled me into a hug just like he always does. I guess he wasn’t mad or anything anymore. Since Sam and I went to different school it was the same old boring place it always was. No one taught anything new and exciting and all everyone wanted to talk about at lunch was Sam and I.

Not that I knew how everyone found out so fast. I mean sure it was on Facebook but I didn’t know half of these people. Not that there’s anything wrong with the subject it’s just boring to answer the same question twenty times. After school I went to find Sam, who was going to be picking me up, but Vince said that he went home early with a fever.
