"I've been having these dreams. Every night it happens." I began. "It starts as me in a dark alley. Blood everywhere. Loud music plays in the background. Then bright lights flash around me. I slip in and out of consciousness. Then I hear a deep voice. I can't quite make out what he's saying, but his voice is all around me. I open my eyes and see the most beautiful guy I have laid eyes on. He has brown shaggy hair that falls into his eyes, and the cutest side burns. His green/ brown eyes are wide in a panic and his mouth opens, then I wake up."
"What does this have to do with your dog?" CJ says looking down at the small bulldog.
"Well, the guy in my dream is named Toby."
"How do you know? You said you could never tell what he is saying."
"He never told me. I just.... know." I said and looked up at CJ. He smiled and looked down at Toby, and started rubbing his belly. I looked into his eyes and saw a mixture of emotions. Sadness. Happiness. Anger. Then I caught one more, that I never saw before.... Jealousy? I shook my head, why would CJ be jealous? It was just a dream, plus we don't even have feeling for each other. Do we? I looked back at him. No definitely not he's my best friend. I sighed and fell asleep next to my bestfriend. Tomorrow we are suppose to be heading to California.
***Next Day***
I woke up and looked over my shoulder. Toby was cuddled to a still sleeping CJ. I laughed at the sight and took a picture with my phone. I got up, careful not to wake the boys, and walked downstairs. I was greeted by Phil, CJ's dad. "Good morning!" I said and he looked up at me and smiled. "Why good morning princess." He's been calling me princess ever since I met him. He always wanted a daughter and I'm the closest thing he's got. I made us some coffee and handed him his cup. "Here you are, black with two sugars."
"Just how I like it " He smiled and took the cup from me. "You know why I'm here right?" I asked.
"Yeah your mother told me. I'm sorry that happened again.
"It's okay I'm fine." I said taking a bite of my apple.
"How's the scar?" he asked.
Phil was the only one I told about the heart. I never even told my mum or CJ.
"Still kind of hurts, but its getting better."
"That's good princess. If I was there he would have left in a body bag and I would have left in hand cuffs."
"I know but that wouldn't have done any good." He nodded and kept reading his paper. I sat munching on my apple waiting for CJ and mum to come down.
