That's all I could see. Inky blackness. I wasn't dead, I could move. I wasn't asleep, or at least not completely asleep. I wasn't quite awake though. I heard sirens, but I couldn't make out any lights. And every once in a while, something slippery brushed my arms. That's when it hit me. I'm in Eel lake! The blackness must've been smoke from the barn fire! But how was I still alive, that's when I felt the cool, rubber on my arms and legs. There was also a sharp pain in my leg. I swam to shore, gripping a piece of the rubber, and flopped down on the ground. I found the pain in my leg was shrapnel from the missle, as well as the rubber, probably covers for the wires. I pulled it out and walked around the barn to the entrance. I saw an ambulance, some fire trucks, and some cop cars. A cop was standing inside the rubble of the burned building and spotted me right away. "Ey kid, wadda ya doin here?"
After a little thought, I answered. "Just my job, officer. Just my job."
"What in the heck does that mean? Are you alright, kid?"
"I'm better than alright, sir. I'm super." I said. With that, I vanished. I knew from that day on, I could never return to my normal life. With Ms. Pepper still on the loose, I wouldn't even want to. I had to defend my small town, and even more important, the world. So, why did I tell you all of this? Well, I need new recruits. There is an evil like I've never seen before and I need all the help I can get. So, if you don't believe me, if you think this is all made up, then swipe up and end this "story". But if you think, no, know this is real, then join me. The choice is yours.
