It was a dark night when Jake had just finished cleaning his last tank when he heard Mr. Warren calling him. "Jake! Where are you lad?"
'Over here Mr. Warren!" Jake called out. Mr. Warren walked over. "Jake, there's been an accident. Our other tank cleaner had just finished cleaning the shark tank when a shark swam up and bit him. He's gonna be okay but he needed to go to the hospital. I wanted to know if you could get the Eel tank for me. Please?"
Um... okay?" Jake said, unsure of his dicision. "You sure? We wouldn't want our newest employee getting fried!" Mr. Warren joked. "Yeah, I'll do it." Jake said. "Thanks Jake! I knew hiring you wasn't a mistake!" Mr. Warren said, already walking away. Jake was already in his wetsuit so he collected his stuff and went over to the tank. He climbed in and started cleaning, thinking to himself that it was too easy. As he finished, he noticed that he hadn't seen a single Eel the whole time he was in the tank. Almost as if they read his mind, the Eels rushed out, taking him by supprise. They seemed to surround him, watching him, anticipating his move. He went to get out and they released their energy, zapping him unconscious. He woke up, remembering that he blacked out, but not remembering why. He was weirded out so he finished the little bit of tank left and swam towards the ladder. As he approached it, he realized the Eels were closing in behind him. After realizing they would reach him before he reached the ladder, he decided to turn and scare then off. He waved his hand at them and a bolt of lightning shot out of his hand, shooting out of the water and shattering a light on the roof. The Eels were in momentary shock and he swam to the ladder. As he exited the tank, he heard Mr. Warren rushing over to investigate the loud clatter made by the light being destroyed. "Jake! Are you okay?" He exclaimed. "That was really random, huh? Good thing you were in the water! You coulda gotten impaled by the glass!"
"Yeah, good thing huh." Jake played along. " Why are you here so late Jake? Nevermind, you go change and leave, I'll clock out for you."
"Thanks Mr. Warren!" Called Jake, heading to the restroom. As he was changing, as he was changing, he started feeling hot and overwhelmed, almost as if the contact with the rubber was keeping him cool. Then he remembered the Eels surrounding and shocking him. The rubber wetsuit must've absorbed the shock! Then it probably spread the electricity through my body! Good thing I brought my rubber bracelets! he thought to himself. He finished changing and ran through the front door. He was so excited by his new powers and discovery he didn't see the shadows in the alley across the street.
