Tik, Tik, Tik.

The resonate sound of the clock radiated inside my head.

If only their was a way to shut out the world.

I lay beneath my sheets concealing myself from what's on the other side of them. What you don't see can't damage you right?

Not in this case.

I hold the tedious, and only knife I keep in my dorm room close to my side. I ordinarily used it for eating steak.

I concentrate to listen for anything outside and inside of my apartment. I listen for the noises coming from the inside of my closet.

All I hear is the clock.

Tik, Tik, Tik.

I hold my breath anxiously and pull the cover down from my eyes. I tilt my head dark head up to take a peek. As the blanket slides down my brown eyes, I see nothing unusual.

"Grahahhhwhhwhha." I jumped as I heard the atrocious growl come from the closet.

"Shit." I mutter under my breath.

I grab the edge of the sheet and flip it over uncovering my petit body. I wipe my tears and get off the bed.

I speed tip toe to the closet and stand back to back with the wall beside the closet door. I breath out silently trying to calm myself down.

I grip the knife in my hand and slide my body so I'm against the door.

"Come on Ariana, you can do this." I whispered to myself.

"Graahahgggarraghhh!" I feel another body hit the door forcefully from the other side. I jump and scurry away from my closet door throwing myself back on my bed.

I slip under the covers.

This is going to be a long day.

I open my eyes and sniffle, I notice the darkness is swallowing me whole. Am I dead?

"Grahahhahhah." Nope.

I sigh and peek over my blanket. Déjà vu hit me like a wave.

This time it's pitch black so I can't see. I grab a hold of my metal weapon which was beside me and  I creepily stand up from my bed making it creek. My cocoa coloured hair fell down my back as I stood up.

I walk forward and slide on the dirty carpet feeling spy like when a sharp pain connects between my baby toe and the one beside it.

"Ouch!" I shouted. I covered my mouth with my hand while seething in pain from stubbing my toe.

"Grgagagg!" It gets louder.

My eyes widen and tears start to form. Although it's not the pain from my toe that is causing this. It's the reality of life that I now have to live.

I walk to the light switch and flick the switch to on. Even that sounded loud. The silence in here is deafening.

A flash of annoyance strikes through me as I realize there's no power.
