Ariana's POV:

Diesels mom and I walked into the kitchen to get some tea. It was a bit awkward sense I didn't know her or Diesel either, really.

I look out the window at the setting sun and a small smile stretches across my mouth knowing theirs a bit of hope.

"I can see the way my son looks at you." Faith said. What? I've only known him for a day.

"Oh, me and Diesel aren't-" I started. She cut me off and said,

"It's okay dear you don't have to explain. I know it might be a touchy topic with Diesels past." She said handing me the tea. What the fuck? We don't even know each other.

I took the tea and thanked her. What did she mean by his past?

"Where is your rest room Mrs. Farina?" I asked politely. If I was going to stay here I wanted to get on their good side.

"Oh please, call me Faith. The bathroom is the second left down that hallway." She said and smiled greatly.

Everyone seemed to be in such a great mood even though the world was coming to an end.

Maybe it's because they were all together and alive.

I walked down the hallway to find the bathroom while I heard Diesel talking with his dad. I knew I was being nosey but I stayed and listened anyways.

"After what you put your mother threw I don't know if it's best if you stay here. Especially with another girl. Remember what Hannah turned out to be?" His dad asked raising his voice. Maybe Hannah was a part of this past his mom was talking about.

"Ari isn't like that dad! And I learnt from Hannah how to not trust people." He said to his dad.

Ari? As Diesel said that my stomach did a flip. Weird.

I decided I would go to the bathroom so I made my way down the hall.

I closed the door and looked in the mirror. I looked like death.

I splashed cold water onto my face and cleaning my eyes. I pulled my eyebrows into shape and un clumped my eyelashes with my finger. That's the best I could do considering I had no make up.

I let my hair down and it fell down my shoulders and back in curly chunks. I lifted my hair and teased the top. The bigger the better right?

After I was done in the bathroom I opened the door to a girl who seemed to be around twelve years old. "Hey, I'm Kadie" She said smiling.

"Hi, I'm Ariana." I replied back with a smile.

As I walked out of the bathroom my nostrils filled with an amazing smell. It reminded me of Christmas dinner back home.

"Where are you from?" She asked curiously.

"I'm from Oklahoma City, and your from here in Brodview right?" I asked kindly.

Kadie nodded. "So are you and my cousin a thing?" She asked. Definitely not, I thought.

"No. Actually we just met today." I told her. She seemed suprised but masked it and said,

"Oh. The way he looked at you made me think you were together." She told me.

Why did everyone keep saying that? Every time I talked to him he was glaring, frowning or had no emotion. Well I guess not every time.
