You visibly stiffened, showing a shocked expression and felt a pang of happiness and shock at the same time.
"What did you just say?" You asked just to confirm you weren't hearing things, Marco blushed and continued to fall over his words a little, "I j-just s-said I w-wanted to get t-to know you better" he managed to finish gaining some confidence near the end of his sentence.
"Why would you want to know someone like me" you asked in your usual blank voice, Marco tutted and said something that made you tear up a little. "Don't say that (F/N), your a person who has feelings!, hidden or not" he gave you one of his best smiles, which in turn made you blush a little and look away for a second time.

"Not according to my family, I'm not" you mumbled, taking a small chance you start to tell him little bits of what you went through. "My father often referred to me as a monster and was disgraced of having a daughter like me" you went quiet, partly hoping he didn't hear you, but Marco heard every word and automatically noticed the sorrow laced in your voice. Which made him frown a little "your father is wrong, I don't know you... But if you were a monster you wouldn't be nice and gentle like you're being right now" you looked straight at him with a confused look.

Making Marco giggle and you blush, "but you don't know me! What if I'm hiding something?" You asked trying to sound intimidating, "as much as you want to deny it, I can see and hear the gentleness" Marco looked at the sky and hummed. "Really?" You asked in disbelief, your mind kept saying 'is he for real?' And your subconscious countered 'yes its real, someone's finally seen something, you thought you lost!' Whilst these inner conversations were taking place, your expression was priceless, mouth slightly hung ajar and you were unintentionally staring at a poor blushing Marco.

"Uhmm... Y-yes, I've n-noticed for a while, you have this kind side to you, no matter how you try and hide it" Marco finished his statement gaining courage after stuttering a little. "How so?" You mumbled.
"Look at yesterday morning, when Eren fell asleep in the middle of his chores and Corporal Levi was about to start his routine chore inspection before lunch, and you saw Eren was no where near done, you helped him complete his task before he got into trouble. Or when Bertholdt was being name called, you punched the other guy in the mouth, I'm not one for violence against comrades but the other guy did sort of deserve it." He was now looking straight at you "so yes I do believe your a kind and caring person, whom does not talk much" at this you giggled
"You really think so?" Marco heard the uncertainty in you voice, which made him think, you had insecurity issues. All these things you were showing and telling him, made Marco more attracted and wanted to be with you more.

A comfortable silence fell upon you both, but unfortunately it was time for training. As you and Marco got up, Marco plucked as much courage as he could and kissed your cheek, mumbling "I like you, have done for a long time now" you blushed as red as red could go "R-really?" And Marco couldn't help but chuckle, "you know (F/N) there are other words than really! But yes its really true" he finished "I l-like you t-to" you spoke seemly more to the ground than Marco. He gave such a sweet smile, "(F/N) would you be mine?" His voice was laced with nervousness but seemed strong at the same time, words failed to slip out your mouth and you merely nodded with a smile that melted Marco's heart. "I shall see you at lunch!" He quipped happily, giving another kiss to your cheek and went off to the training area.

Your mind was still trying to process what on earth just happened, and your face couldn't help but keep smiling as you, had also like Marco for some time now. He was one of the only ones, who would purposely try and catch your gaze and gave smiles to you.
