Chapter Twenty-Nine

To be honest, I don't think I did as well as I could have with this fight scene. I hope you guys like it though. Liam's weapon is a halberd which is a basically an ax on a long spear as seen pictured above. Anyway enjoy!

Liam jumped down off the balcony, landing properly on his feet in front of Josh. As much as he wanted to tend to Niall he needed to get rid of the other vampire first. He couldn't risk there being a chance Josh tried to pull something. "Get up," He growled. "Get on your feet and fight me."

Josh climbed to his feet, glaring at Liam. "Who do you think you are? Coming in here like you're better than me? More powerful than me?"

Liam smirked as he disappeared and reappeared behind Josh. "I am more powerful that you." He stated, spinning around in place and sending a roundhouse kick to the side of Josh's head. Josh didn't have any time to react and before he knew it he was flying through a wall.

Liam wasted no time in waking over to the hole in the wall and stepping through. He leaned down at grabbed Josh by his shirt collar. Then he pulled his other arm back and punched him square in the chest, sending the other vampire across the room.

Liam stared at the man on the floor, watching him groan in pain. He walked towards him again. "Do you know how long I had to see Niall suffer in pain and fear because if what you had done to him?" He asked, voice laced in venom. "He would not leave his room nor allow me to let him go at all."

Josh stood up, chuckling. "Nice to know how much damaged I caused him." He replied, voice cocky.

Liam's eyes narrowed and the thrust out his fist, hitting Josh in the face. The he stepped closer, sending a few punches to his abdomen. Once Josh was hunched over, Liam gripped his hair, holding he down as he brought his knee right in to his nose. He heard a satisfying crack at that. Liam threw his body down before walking over to a wall mount that held two halberds. He yanked one of its mount before twirling it in his hand.

"Ripping your head off would be too easy," Liam said, bringing the halberd down, blade side down. Josh rolled over just in time, missing it. The blade cracked the tile floor from the strength of the impact. Liam raised the halberd up and brought it back down again, this time the point of the spear grazed the side of Josh's leg. "Get up and arm yourself, I will give you ten seconds."

Josh stumbled to his feet and somehow manager to rip a sword from the hand of a suit of armor. He charged for Liam, bringing the sword down from above his head but Liam head the halberd up, and Josh's blade clanked against the staff of Liam's weapon. Liam forcefully pushed back against the sword, knocking Josh off balance and he stumbled back.

The brunette surged forward, bringing down the blade side of the halberd just as Josh lunged to the side. Liam could see hair falling down slowly from how close the blade was to touching the other vampire. He quickly swing the halberd around, slicing across the shorter man's chest. Josh's arm with the sword drops to his side while the other wrap across his chest where his wound is.

Josh glared at Liam before taking the sword in both of his hands and charging at the other vampire. He thrust the sword out, grazing Liam's side before raising it above his head and bringing it back down. Liam held the halberd sideways, blocking the sword again and raised his leg, kicking Josh in the stomach, sending him tripping backwards.

"You will not win," Liam stated. Josh quickly staggered to his feet. He huffed in anger, blinded by the rage he had for Liam. The brunette new this was a fight Josh wasn't going to win. The latter however, could not realize that.

Josh charged again for Liam, who side stepped, allowing just rush passed him. He quickly turned around and thrust out the halberd and the head of the spear pierced between Josh's shoulder blades, causing him to cry out in pain. Liam held on to the halberd as Josh fell to his knees. Liam walked around his fallen enemy, coming to stand in front of him.

"You are fighting a battle you cannot win." Liam said, holding the top of the post of the halberd right under the blade, lifting it up.

Josh threw his head back and laughed halfheartedly, not having much of the energy to full on chuckle. "I was never one to give up, Liam." He replied.

"No," The stronger vampire began. "You never were." At those words, Liam brought the head of the halberd down, the long spear head piercing right through Josh's neck. He pulled it out and the other vampires body fell over lifelessly.

Liam dropped the weapon and disappearing, appearing in the room where he left Niall. His heart nearly broke, seeing the angel still in only his briefs, curled up on the bed. He could sense that Niall's heart beat was slow, indicating he was asleep. He walked closer and noticed tear stains on his cheeks. Liam gathered up the blanket and wrapped Niall in it then carried him bridal style out of the castle. He headed back out to his car, placing in him the back to lay then got in to the front and drove back home.

He glanced at the review mirror, seeing the angel still asleep. He couldn't help be feel relieved that he finally ended Josh's life and Niall would be safe from him now. Once he made it home he carried Niall inside the mansion and up to their room, walking in and heading straight for the bed. He dressed the blonde in a t-shirt and some sweat pants so he would be comfortable and laid besides the Irish boy.

Liam held him closely in his arms. "The thought of losing you both was enough to almost drive me insane. I do not know what I would have done without you." He whispered. He kissed Niall's forehead before closing his eyes as well with intentions of peaceful dreams.

The next morning Niall work with a start. He couldn't remember anything, other than Josh trying to have his way with him. The blonde almost immediately started thrashing, but strong and familiar arms held him close. "Niall, baby, you are safe. It is Liam." He heard.

The blonde quickly looked up at where he heard that voice and tears started falling instantly. Niall turned on his side and buried his face in to Liam's chest. The vampire just held him close, rubbing his back to soothe him as he let the boy cry. He cooed softly at him, mumbling sweet nothings to help calm him down.

"You have nothing to be afraid of, my love. Josh is dead. You are back at home, safe. I promise you." He whispered softly but firmly. Niall relaxed at those reassuring words, sniffling now as he tried to stop crying.

"Thank you," He mumbled.

Liam looked down at his mate. "Niall you are my life. There is nothing I would not do for you. You are my first priority and you know I will always protect you. You will never have to thank me for doing what it is I am meant to do for my mate."

"Still though," The small boy sniffled again but stayed quiet. There was a question he wanted to ask but at the same time, he was afraid to know the answer.

Liam seemed to sense this. "Are you feeling up to moving?" He asked. Niall nodded. "Then come with me, love." He said, climbing out of bed and offering Niall his head. He took it and the two of them left the room and headed down the hall to Zayn's room. Liam knocked and soon received a 'come in'. He opened the door and lead Niall inside.

The angel's eyes widened when he saw Perrie lying in bed with Zayn sitting on the edge next to her. "Perrie!" He cried, happily, running to the girl and gently throwing himself on her. She smiled and hugged him back and the Irish boy was crying again. "I thought y-you died. H-How did you s-sur-" Before Niall could finish, Perrie smiled at him and he gasped, seeing the fangs she now how. "You're a- you're a vampire now?"

Perrie nodded but Zayn explained first. "I could not let her die. So Liam suggested I change her. Now she is immortal and her wound is healing quite fast." He stated. Niall turned to Zayn and hugged him now.

"Thank you," He mumbled. Zayn smiled and returned the hug.

"I'm still getting used to it. But I'm grateful for what Zayn did. I couldn't leave you or him or even Liam either." She said, earning a smile from Liam.

Niall smiled as well, happy that everyone including his baby were alive and well. "I'm so glad I still have my family."

Josh is dead. Perrie survived the turning process. Niall is safe. All is right in the world. I think there may only be about two more chapters left, you guys. We'll see. I hope you guys liked this chapter. It would be a lot to read your comments on what you thought about it. Anyway stay tuned for whatever I might have planned for the ending! (Honestly I don't even know what that is, I just typed that.)
