Frankie's mother was so distracted by her baby that she forgot to mend the whole in Frankie's shoe that weekend. She didn't blame her mother, caring for a baby was apparently one of the hardest jobs. The baby crying in the kitchen was piercing her ears as she tried reading her book. After trying for a few more minutes, she gave up on focusing on the pages and dog-eared her page.
